So, who wants more castles? This is Karlštejn Castle, built in the 14th century by King Charles IV of Bohemia, who became the Holy Roman Emperor. For a time it housed the Imperial Crown Jewels. The castle has been beautifully preserved in a form similar to how it would have looked in the medieval period when it was built.

Spent the entire day wandering around Prague. Time for a photo dump? I think so.

This statue comemorates Jan Hus, a Bohemian proto-reformer of the 14th century who preached in Czech at Bethlehem Chapel in Prague. This was unheard of during his day, when mass was held only in Latin, which most common men did not understand. He was burned at the stake in Constance, Germany on July 6th, 1415 because, inspired by John Wycliffe, he wanted the Bible to be available in the language of the people and because he preached against indulgences, and other errors and corruption in the church. The inscription on the base of the statue says, "For the Truth."

Went to find a little place in Zbraslav to have lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see this sign.

Castles aren't the only things worth seeing in Czechia. Found this building in the town square in Sušice.

Another castle! Did not have time to visit this one. Just saw it from afar.

Anyone like castles? Visited Castle Rabi today; one of the largest medieval ruins in the Czech Republic.
