Excel just autocorrected “APs” to”Aps”, and I can’t tell you how much I don’t want it to autocorrect anything ever. It’s bad enough that it wants to turn everything into a date.

Trying to zap and Alby is throwing errors. When connected to my Umbrel node the error is "no_route". When connected to my Start9 node it times out. Google returns very little, and nothing helpful. Anyone here using a non-custodial solution other than Alby to zap?

GM Nostr, it’s been a while. The “9 to 5 death spiral” has me in it’s teeth. But maybe not for much longer. I gave my day job an ultimatum of sorts: either give me a raise to match local cost of living, pay me in bitcoin, or accept my resignation. They chose the last option. I’ve got several months to figure out my next move. It’s looking like consulting might be a viable option, though while not the most stable, it would leave me time for self improvement and Bitcoin shenanigans…

Listening to the Ready Player One audiobook again. The author describes the pretend virtual world being an escape from a dystopian real world. It’s a videogame that becomes people’s reality. Isn’t that the same as social media in our world? It starts as an escape, but becomes a consuming reality for some. I like to think I use it as a communication tool that augments physical reality instead. And that’s what I like about protocols like Nostr. You can shape your usage of it to be whatever you like. Want a short-form text post platform? Sure. Want to advertise your business? Done. Want to show off vacation pics? Yup. Blogging platform? No one can stop you. It’s whatever you shape it to be.

Words cannot express the levels of rage I feel every time I touch one of these. They are SO. EASY. TO. CRACK. I'm not a locksmith. I'm not some kind of Hollywood safe-cracker. I'm a random white boi with access to YouTube. But every single last local hardware store (in my part of Canada) stocks these combo locks as their basic "high security" or "industrial" or "commercial" combo locks. And they SUUUUUCK. *le sigh* Maybe the reason I rage so hard about these is that they remind me of fiat. They're the default retail offering, and as such retail customers inherently trust them. How can we break this? How can we get retail John Doe to see through the lies and deceit?
