Rewatching MTV’s Orange County film from 2002. Yea…yea, teen comedy. Honestly it’s one fine piece of cinema. It represents a time, place and vibe. Damn funny to boot. What the fuck happened? #MTV films were a force to reckon with. Orange County has a killer soundtrack: Social Distortion, Cream and Crazy Town’s “butterfly” to name a few. Total time capsule of the era. I’m not sure a film like this can be replicated proper in modern times, since it seems like the current youth culture kind of lacks the space to be freely creative/authentic. Wokism/Fiat ate up the carefree times of the early 2000s and beyond. Maybe if we shift our culture we shift what we produce/consume? I got a great story for you guys, a story involving distrust in the system, of blatant fraud. A story of not trusting, verifying…and winning. I went to the dentist the other week for the first time in a few years for a basic cleaning. Red flags immediately - attempted upselling of expensive treatment and products. X rays were taken but not shown to me. He told me I had 8 cavities/8 fillings were needed. Went and got a second opinion a few days after with a different dentist in the community. The secondary dentist did a full x ray panel/mouth exam. The results? Zero. No dental work needed. Second opinion dentist called my teeth and oral health “impeccable”. Preaching to the choir here, but #bitcoin has taught me to not trust, but rather verify. It’s a way of life. The fraudulent dentist is a piece of shit. I almost let him to drill into my teeth to fix non-existent problems for monetary gain. The kook thought I was an easy target but doesn’t know how distrustful and disagreeable I can be. Always listen to your instincts.
