Jiufen 九分 is one of the most picturesque villages in Taiwan. Nestled in the mountains, close to Taipei, its winding narrow walkways only accessible by foot or motorcycle are flanked by merchants selling street food, various traditional crafts, and tourist souvenirs. There is a rumor that Jiufen was the inspiration for the Studio Ghibli movie “Spirited Away” but this is unverified.

Today is a sad day for me and my family. Vacation is over. We’re headed to the airport , leaving Taiwan. It will take over 24 hours to get back to Florida. Monday it’s back to the grind, back to my regular job. 😢

Maybe I’m weird but I enjoyed the many different manhole cover designs I saw in Seoul. Here are a few that I took photos of. I just got back to Taiwan. Friday we head back to Florida.

I was a caricature artist at Disney world for several years before I started working for the post office. One of my old friends from my Disney caricature days is working in Seoul somewhere. I couldn’t find him but I got this one from a local. Not bad for only taking about two minutes and only about $5.
