"All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us... they can't get away this time."
Chesty Puller
For most of history the people running things worked in the dark. You felt the effects and never saw the hands. Decisions got made in rooms you'd never enter, and by the time you heard about it, it was already policy.
That era is ending. Between open ledgers, open protocols and millions of people comparing notes in real time, the moves are visible now. Not every one of them, but enough to see the shape of the board.
Visibility changes everything. When you can see where everyone stands, you stop wasting energy guessing and you stop asking permission from systems that were never built to serve you. You build alongside them instead. Your own money, your own speech, your own networks, running in parallel whether anyone upstairs likes it or not.
Puller wasn't panicking when he said that. He was relieved. Being surrounded meant the searching was over and every direction had work in it.
That's where we are. Plenty of fights left. But the fog lifted and we can finally see the field. Pick a direction and get to work.

🚨Attention Nostr. I've been informed Monero is now the default digital currency, so it's time to make the switch. Go into your client settings, turn off your zap button, and turn on the XMR button.
It should be right under the zap button.

As I’ve gotten older and realized we live in a world of ambition, feedback is your best friend.
Seek criticism, not praise.
It's constructive criticism that sharpens your tools for the real battles.
Nine panels to say Monero's winning, and the scoreboard is darknet markets and ransomware crews. Posted on Nostr, where the tips run over Lightning, the same Layer 2 your meme dunks on. Due to the outlandish gas prices, I will no longer be stopping at stop signs or red lights. I can't afford to idle.
Thank you for your understanding and stay safe!
Generational and cultural conditioning has turned respect into an award we demand from others. We interpret smooth conversations as respectful and difficult ones as suspect.
We imagine insults where none exist, mentally designing retaliations that only end up poisonously destroying our own peace. It is good to understand the difference if you are ever to escape the “social acceptance”trap. Most people will never realize it. But if you do, you become unstoppable.
Watching the kids rip wheelies down the street on e-bikes gives me two feelings at once, and I can't fully sort them out.
Part of me loves it. Kids are outside, loud and together, and nobody's stuck in a dark bedroom staring at a screen. That's a win in my book.
The other part of me is standing there thinking slow down, you're about to eat pavement or get hit. And I don't totally know where that comes from.
Then I remember being twelve with pegs on my bike, hopping every curb in town, 50-50 grinding the waxed curbs through parking lots until some manager came out yelling at us. I'm pretty sure a guy on his porch was having this exact thought about me.
Maybe that's just what happens when you go from being the ruckus to watching it.
Anybody else catch themselves turning into the guy on the porch?
More semicolons in this post than merchants taking XMR at my local coffee shop.
Bro wrote a gothic novel to tell me he values privacy. Respect. I'd zap it, but you'd probably see where it came from.

Fiat money only works if debt grows forever in a finite world. In biology, we call that cancer.
