Generational and cultural conditioning has turned respect into an award we demand from others. We interpret smooth conversations as respectful and difficult ones as suspect.
We imagine insults where none exist, mentally designing retaliations that only end up poisonously destroying our own peace. It is good to understand the difference if you are ever to escape the “social acceptance”trap. Most people will never realize it. But if you do, you become unstoppable.

Watching the kids rip wheelies down the street on e-bikes gives me two feelings at once, and I can't fully sort them out.
Part of me loves it. Kids are outside, loud and together, and nobody's stuck in a dark bedroom staring at a screen. That's a win in my book.
The other part of me is standing there thinking slow down, you're about to eat pavement or get hit. And I don't totally know where that comes from.
Then I remember being twelve with pegs on my bike, hopping every curb in town, 50-50 grinding the waxed curbs through parking lots until some manager came out yelling at us. I'm pretty sure a guy on his porch was having this exact thought about me.
Maybe that's just what happens when you go from being the ruckus to watching it.
Anybody else catch themselves turning into the guy on the porch?
More semicolons in this post than merchants taking XMR at my local coffee shop.
Bro wrote a gothic novel to tell me he values privacy. Respect. I'd zap it, but you'd probably see where it came from.

Fiat money only works if debt grows forever in a finite world. In biology, we call that cancer.
The revolution isn't coming later. It's the everyday choices regular people are making right now, how they save, spend, and talk, and future generations will see those choices as the turning point in history. No leader, no big moment. The users are the revolution.
Somebody down the line is going to study this stretch of history the way we studied the early internet. This time, WE get to be the people in it.
Including small corners of the internet called the “Purpleverse”

In the long run, Bitcoin will have been a story about when a bunch of imperfect humans met a perfect machine
Right now, literally right now….each zapped note is gifted wealth to our future generations one Sat at a time.
Bitcoin doesn't fix greed. It just stops hiding it. No bailout is coming for you, and none is coming for the banks either, which is exactly what Satoshi was pointing at when he put a bailout headline in the very first block.
An institution that can print its way out of every mistake never has to build a strong mind. Bitcoin takes that option away from everyone, the banks and us.
So yeah, you need a strong mind to hold money. Bitcoin gives that mind something worth holding.
And replies matter. A good reply can get zapped just like the original post, so the conversation underneath becomes part of the value instead of an afterthought.

Zaps are value moving at the speed of conversation.
That changes how people talk. When appreciation travels as fast as a reply, you start feeding the stuff you actually want more of. Good ideas get fuel, spam gets nothing.
We spent twenty years on an internet where the conversation was free and the money lived somewhere else, behind ads and middlemen. Nostr put them back in the same room.
Next time something in your feed makes you think, don't just like it. Zap it.
Nobody goes to X looking for an Al opinion.
People want to know what REAL people experienced. The future belongs to people with stories.
Not people with perfect Al generated paragraphs.

Be the reason someone believes good people still exist in this chaotic world. I really do see it here everyday and am grateful to be part of this small corner of the internet.
An untrained mind is easily recruited
When the mainstream news networks break a big story, that's your signal to start questioning everything about it. Who handed it to them? Who benefits if you believe it? Why this story, and why right now?
You're more likely to find the truth from internet sleuths like us than from a network with advertisers to please and access to protect.
The networks spend billions spreading propaganda. Every question you ask costs them a little more. Make it expensive.
