Hey, you want some government insider trading via Truth API, it’ll just cost you $100k.
This country is an absolute joke.
You’re not getting that time back. I don’t care what you tell yourself. The years you spend chasing overtime or letting the state raise your kid or letting a travel team eat every weekend, that’s gone. You don’t get a redo.
I know because I’m at the end of it now. I preached this exact thing to myself for years and still missed stuff. Work got in the way plenty. That’s not an excuse, it’s just what happened, and I own it.
It goes by fast. Faster than anyone tells you when you’re in the middle of it. And it’s hard, no sugarcoating that part either. But there’s nothing else you’ll do that comes close to being worth it.
You get one shot at this. Don’t let something else get more of your kid than you do.
You cannot raise your children the way your parents raised you. Because your parents raised you for a world that no longer exists.
Men, if you’re not married, find a woman who actually builds with you, not one who just tolerates you. Marry her. Raise kids that can handle the world you didn’t get handed.
Nobody’s coming to do this for us. The next generation is downstream of what we do right now, today, not what we post about doing.
Strong men. Strong homes. Gm
Also, I want to thank Mrs. Contra for being by my side through this life.
Today is 22 years of marriage. She’s an absolute rockstar and I wouldn’t want to spend my life with anyone else. Always by my side and my harshest critic, always pushing me to do more. Never settling.
GM.
Every day shows up with opportunities and problems both, usually at the same time. The distraction is in the details. It pulls your eyes off the person right in front of you while you’re busy fighting whatever fire looks urgent.
I don’t have patience left for people who can’t see the actual fight happening right now. Time’s too short for that.
Nostr keeps me level though. Most of you here think clear and stay grounded, and that’s rare. I learn something and connect with somebody new most days on this thing.
So through the ups and downs, know this. There’s people beside you in this fight even when they’re an ocean away. Same battle, different timezone. That’s worth something.
Keep going.

Coinkite news responding to Mallers…
Their claim is that it wasn’t a fallback they built in on purpose. The weak PRNG was already living inside MicroPython’s runtime for unrelated things, shuffling, timing jitter. The setting meant to disable it, MICROPY_HW_ENABLE_RNG=0, didn’t do what they intended. So the runtime’s own default activated instead, because of what they’re calling a link-time error.
I want to be clear about what that does and doesn’t do. It’s a real distinction. “We built a backup plan and it failed” and “we tried to shut something off and the toggle didn’t work” are different kinds of mistakes, and if you’re trying to understand what actually happened at Coinkite, that difference is worth knowing.
What it doesn’t touch. The outcome is the same either way. Seeds generated with a fraction of the entropy they needed, for five years, unreviewed, until it cost people real money. Precision about intent isn’t the same as resolution of impact.
Read it yourself. Decide where the line is for you between an explanation and an excuse. I don’t think it has to be one or the other, and I don’t think Coinkite gets to decide that for you either.
