The poor bald guy in MS Teams meeting - Teams thinks he should have more hair, and because of the bg cutout, his background is showing up as his hair.

I just want to catalog all the important stuff in my life. Good and bad. And dates. Like I'm my own historian.
And then I poke myself in the eye with glimpses of glory involving IPFS/CIDs, digital signing, web of trust, and we can't ignore the book of revelation. Like if I build a system like that, it's going to bump something in the flow of history. Then I wonder if God actually wanted me to build that or not.
"but mere talk leads only to poverty"
A thought occurred to me earlier today ...
Sometimes, I don't need perfection—I need action.
I think about gated information being published, even by the person who wants it to be released in the future after he is dead.
Certain redacted information that provides clarity and truth but would bring great shame to the author, or his relatives. However, shame is temporary, but truth is eternal. Some people value truth over shame.
But how can they confess? To write it in a journal that no one will read? Or might read at the wrong time...
Only an automated system, a federated system, could provide guarantees like that. Like an electronic Trust. Everyone promises to only release their shard of the private key after the prescribed duration of time, which will release the secret (allowing it to be decrypted). The assumption is that the secret is published publicly, but encrypted, using this system.
And the assumption is that these trustees cannot be coerced by any government or sinister infiltration, to release their keys prematurely. Even to save lives they must not be allowed, or capable, of doing that.
At least, any collusion should be publicly visible on the network, by watchers, so that public users may revolt, and some of them might have an escape hatch for their secrets (extra layer(s) of encryption).
For those who love truth, it is an admirable goal to admit to past mistakes in a balanced and plain way. Not reopening wounds, but identifying pain and scars. Ones that happened while we were younger and less wise. And we have been chastened since then, to become a servant of others.
I wish that a website could be built around an Npub. Such as if you were to take all the tweets from a certain individual, and compile them into a website. But the website would actually just be a frontend to Nostr.
Other people could interact in a gated way, such as leaving comments, voting, reputation systems. This could be extended with a moderation system. I'm sure there are NIPs for many of these.
I don't remember her name, but — there's a lady who apparently her descendants really liked the things she said, because they published a book of her sayings. And there's a website outlining her doctrines, and everything. It's that kind of idea, but connected to Nostr.
The Wisdom of Matthias
Like clouds and wind with no rain is he who boasts of gifts he does not give.
This was me in my past co-founder relationship. I was the clouds and wind with no rain.
You can tell a lot about a man by the way he organizes his screw collection.
"The world's oldest brewery... brief hiatus during the dark ages..."
When my ex co-founder sent me a dense spec doc generated by AI, I said "that's crazy".
Now, I'm working with Claude shipping massive features I'm like "that's crazy".
Frozen but with a better singer and less gay norse shit
HEY CULLIGAN MAN
Vibe coding + competence = just fine.
Anything + incompetence = not fine.
Apparently white is the only color that can't be cleaned.
Thoughts on a failed business relationship.
I ran out of gas and had to quit. Meanwhile, he and his buddy were blasting off to the moon generating intricate UIs using AI. (Not-yet-working UIs, that is...)
I had floundered in our first effort before we pivoted. I was lazy, disorganized. But in my defense, I was blazing new ground. Perhaps I can claim that it was demotivating... My task was to connect to CRMs, but we had no actual CRM accounts. So, I was caught up by testing, or the lack thereof.
My main thing is that I wanted this software to work. And I was on the hook for it working. If it broke, they would look at me. My partner promised up and down to be understanding. But I believe what I know about reality: it's my responsibility to ensure that this "money-making machine" stays running.
We had a pause and then pivoted, to a new strategy (which was all his idea). I had expressed concerns about not having enough time to work on this project, between family, and my actual employer, and other concerns of life. He came back with an even bigger and more ambitious project.
Forget about MVPs. He was blasting off to the moon with AI rockets strapped to his thighs. Hope he can steer.
Toward the end, it became clear that I had to disengage.
We were not on the same page anymore.
I was not on board anymore.
I liked my normal life.
"Do not wear yourself out to get rich. Have some wisdom and show restraint".
There's nothing wrong with becoming more rich. In many ways, I am already rich. Riches are good. Wearing yourself out is not, (yourself and your family).
Listen, if I was just a lone wolf like him, I could stay up for three nights straight to tackle an issue and bring it across the finish line. But, I can't do that anymore. I thought I could. I did for a while. But, not anymore.
I am "having some wisdom and showing restraint" before I cause damage that can't be undone.
I have children who need my influence on their life, and not the influence of a stressed, disorganized, and ultimately inadequate father.
If I am inadequately managing _three_ things, then one needs to be removed.
Leveling up involves playing a game that you've never read the rules for.
I wonder how many of those "pack a day" smokers were really just "light a cigarette ... take a puff ... hold it in your hand ... notice it burning out ... light another one ... maybe puff once or twice" kind of smokers?
If you're not thinking about the cost of every cigarette, then this might make sense.
Is it just me or did bald from bald and bankrupt go dark? We saw him in one of Johnny's videos. Entire vibe shift. He is not the same person that he was in his older videos. And then you see the skull figures on his kitchen countertop.
In laws: "Wow there's a mighty fine number of dead ladybugs on your front porch."
Me: "Yeah, they all died! Isn't that interesting!"
