Monarch Watch notes: The first male radio-tagged monarch has reached Texas! Monarch JMU004 was originally tagged in Virginia on Sep. 23, 2025, and he's now traveled more than 3,000 miles. He was also the first radio-tagged monarch to be detected within the boundaries of a known overwintering site. JMU004 was near Austin by the end of the day on March 19. In addition to being the first male radio-tagged monarch to reach Texas, he's the second monarch that had been radio-tagged in the fall to reach Texas (XSTI009 was first, with a detection on March 14). We encourage you to follow along in the monarchs' journeys this weekend by downloading the free Project Monarch Science mobile app. image
Dave Matthew’s Band including 32 tracks of [Blank] was, and still is, a bitch move IMO image
The capabilities of what is being built, on nostr, right now. It is truly impressive. I’ll be able to build a seed cooperative network. Seed contributors can be zapped their share of each sale. No net 30,60,90 day invoicing. Just value for value. Thanks to @Take My Sats
It is important so spend some time drinking from a firehose. In moderation of course.
FYI Costco Tire Center will steal your chromies and put on these green caps, that are only in season one day per year 🍀 image
GM just got a whole lot gooder with Primal Apps gif keyboard. image
Growing plants from seed isn’t magic. It’s just grown adults naming whatever they are doing as some method presumed to work. Take for example me watering milkweed in one gallon greenhouses today. Since it is cold. I call it cold moist stratification. Basically it means I have no expectation of growth untill it warms up.
Worked the vegetable garden beds and veggie seeds from @SeedVaultMarket arrived. Prepping for spring. The garden even gave me carrots today.
There are two subspecies of Asclepias asperula. On the left is Asclepias asperula asperula. On the right is Asclepias asperula capricornu. The latter is popping up along the monarch migration route in Texas and Oklahoma. The other subspecies has a larger range across the Southwest. Both are important host plants for the monarch butterfly. image
