Thanks to folks feedback, this app has changed a lot and I believe it feels more complete as a language learning tool. These are all the new features you’ll find on it: 1. Instant accounts Accounts are created instantly using nostr’s identity protocol, making onboarding from social media seemless 2. Customizable user experience Choose various settings before getting started to make your experience with the features more personalized 3. Daily goals Define how much XP you want to gain per day to encourage healthy learning habits 4. PWA installs Skip the App Store and install the app on your device using (Soon: enable notifications and create scholarships with learning using ecash wallets) 5. Realtime voice chat Chat back and forth with a goal-centered tutor that offers translations and translation breakdowns 6. Story mode Generate stories, listen with high quality and realistic text-to-speech and practice sentence by sentence with realtime voice & translation support 7. Job scripts (any language) Upload scripts from jobs or work to listen and vocally professional language skills. 8. History lectures Read along through Mexican and Indigenous history by generating lectures that cover culture, wars, key figures and more by using text-to-speech and translation support 9. Grammar Book Answer questions about grammar to learn basic skills to communicate ideas and phrases. 10. Vocabulary Grow your vocabulary by answering questions using multiple choice, multiple answer, fill in the blank and matching question types 11. Random mode Mix up your experience by generating different learning modalities when you gain experience completing the exercises 12. Chat assistant Summon a simple assistant to offer help in the event that you get stuck or aren’t familiar with a concept

1. Stories This feature is thanks to Miguel, a member on Patreon studying computer science that forked the codebase with the intention of adding Chinese to the app and worked on a new product. He’s currently a junior and this will help him eventually land an internship in the following summer. In a nutshell, you can generate stories and the feature will allow you to listen using OpenAI’s text to speech features. Additionally, you’ll be able to practice speaking through the story sentence by sentence while earning XP 2. History As an extension of Stories, I’ve added a read only modality that generates history of Mexico, starting with ancient migration to the Americas all the way to the modern day. Similarly, you can listen to text to speech and follow along while learning about the rich history of indigenous, Spanish and Mexican culture. It covers general history, culture, wars, governments and important figures. 3. Grammar The app includes a grammar book to help people practice technical language skills using various quiz type questions. 4. Vocabulary Likewise, the app contains a vocabulary section to help people learn or recall new words In the near future I’ll be working on improving the user interface and experience by making things generally feel smoother and faster. Since this is an early release, the intent is mostly to collect user feedback to find ways to improve the app.

I highly recommend using AI when making changes to the app, ideally to refactor it for your own since the RealTimeTest.jsx file is the bulk of the code and is largely monolithic. It’s days like these days that are a sobering reminder how internet algorithms have conditioned millions of people to exhibit psychotic behaviors. I personally find it one of the biggest problems of our time. These algorithms are no longer designed for information, they’re designed for reaction. Charlie Kirk was someone I often vehemently disagreed with on a fundamental level, but someone I respected for his practice in discourse and exercise of democracy. His death makes me feel profoundly sad and disillusioned. RIP Mr. Kirk, may God bless your soul.
