I feel like using cash is okay and I feel like using bitcoin is okay.
Using a Visa card to pay for stuff when I can use cash or Bitcoin doesn’t feel okay.
I’m reminded of this when the electricity in this rural town goes out, and the store owner is using a calculator, paper/pencil and cash to continue doing business. Even then, bitcoin feels like it’s okay to use in that situation.
My mood and sense of humor has been improving since I've moved to Mexico. I attribute a lot of it to reduced financial pressure and getting accustomed to saying good morning/afternoon/evening to people I walk past the street again
“Bitcoin or bits of bitcoin”
No mention of sats, sats is a learned behavior, not a natural one.
Even though I'm anti sats, converting sats to bitcoin is also confusing. Most people around the world recognize Bitcoin as a high-value asset, so having apps spend 1 bitcoin (sat) is equally confusing (example from boardwalkcash shown below).
"bits" or "fragments" make natural sense, where "bits" is more on brand.
"cents" can make sense, since it shows people the divisible nature, but most people recognize cents as a function of 100.
"sats" makes sense in the way "benjamins" make sense, but it introduces a learning curve and the idolatry is annoying when it was designed by a guy that intentionally removed himself from the equation as a way to actualize the existence of his/her/their creation.
"bitcoin" is too ambitious and creates a different form of friction on multiple levels.
Perhaps there needs to be a stronger design consensus around fractional bitcoin, and the symbol should be popularized in app design.

BIP-8071
I propose we settle BIP-177 with fisticuffs. Elect two of the finest boxers and the winner decides the future notation.
Two thousand dollars or 20 Benjamins?
“That gaming laptop is going to cost 20 Benjamins.” - people who want satoshis as the standard unit
Day 4 of fighting an infection… today I coughed up a little blood lol. Pray for me 😎🤙 #wagmi
can someone hit me with a test zap rq
An agricultural engineer in rural Mexico analyzing our soil today was asking me questions about Bitcoin, Ethereum and crypto today.
Bullish 😂
People complain about the frequency of Bitcoin content on nostr but there's sort of a progression that develops after acquiring a certain amount of Bitcoin:
1. More overall independence. This means people who own multiple Bitcoin probably don't feel as rushed in their day-to-day. This manifests in many ways, like walking to the grocery store instead of feeling compelled to drive and save time.
2. An increasingly rural lifestyle, usually with a focus on what foods are being consumed and how they're sourced rather than depending on whatever the supply chains grant you at corporate retailers.
3. Civic duty and concern for the rights and privileges of global citizens, usually centered around censorship, free will, the ability to organize or the ability to generate commerce.
4. A focus on the development of the internet and its design, being more thoughtful of how and why algorithms are used and emphasizing interaction or connection with others.
There are many others, but one way or another, Bitcoin inevitably ends up promoting a certain culture, and within any culture there exists many subcultures.
I understand that it can feel a little silly or dogmatic at times, but do consider how the American dollar motivates and incentivizes one to participate under a number of formal and informal contracts just to live, and usually to just barely live, in ways that are often numbing to the mind and spirit.
I’m not nostr only but I happen to use nostr an order of magnitude more than TikTok/X.
I don’t mind using X because I find it somewhat useful to stay up to date on some news and startups/software/markets.
I’ve pretty much stopped using short form video. Short form was really cool in 2020-2022 but after 2023 it kinda shifted into becoming this weird propaganda battleground.
One of the biggest reasons I implement nostr

Firebase > supabase
It's kinda funny how I ended up developing products on top of nostr completely bootstrapped. I was leveraged up the wazoo every day, risking it all, just to afford some independence.
For fucks sake it was so stressful between the years of 2023-2024. I still haven't mentally recovered from what a mindfuck those two years were. It was a very disillusioning time.
I'm gonna work on a Al personal life assistant because I have a ton of insight talking to people and understanding people's struggle to focus on their goals with education. If there's something you'd like to see, feel welcome to let me know.
Kinda funny how after tax, a creator earns less than half of what they charge for their product with the apple tax

The intersection between farming, Bitcoin and nostr is pretty interesting. I bet anyone that makes a solar powered Bitcoin farming device that's easy to implement or configure would make a killing here lol
