It’s strange how words sometimes change in meaning for subgroups of a population. Words like “racist” and “scam” have changed. What troubles me is how this creates mental prisons of cynicism for certain people. Racism, for many, has transitioned from an excessive prejudice of a people to someone who doesn’t prioritize the struggles of others. The word scam went from a deliberate con to something that meets below the expectations of a consumer. Such changes end up producing misery and can be found just about anywhere. Avoid those people.

I've recently made some progress getting help from someone more business-focused to potentially raise capital and improve sales/marketing, which means I can focus more on technology and having a balanced social life. It's been pretty brutal after a few years of being a rookie at many things and having to juggle enough competently.

I’m probably going to update this nostr feed feature later this year. I’m thinking of adding a feature than can post to #LearnWithNostr that has no like button but has NIP-60/61 zaps. I feel like the Like button is a legacy feature in 2025.

I believe sometimes Bitcoin folks can develop a rigid way of thinking that results in the preemptive rejection of good technology like Cashu’s protocol and its relationship and custodian operation. Taking custody over money still has an enormous role in financial technology even with new interactions like zaps, e.g. it is likely that an education services or schools that creates scholarships or funds with education technology would likely take a responsible role in custody of funds for children or parents. It’s the nature of existing in a service economy. This alone could potentially manage billions of interactions. It goes without saying that there is a first principle in the Bitcoiner mind centered around sovereignty or permissionless interactions, but it isn’t a law of the universe. The rigidness could result in missing out on compelling technologies like the cashu environment, stablecoins and other smart contracts.
