Interested in technology, sovereignty, and decentralization.
I am beyond fascinated with Nostr protocol and Bitcoin. I cannot stop learning about it. I have discovered so much in the past three days and found it so easy that I am compelled to take action immediately. At the same time, I am conscious that I may be being naive or oversimplifying things and that triggers an internal warning. It tells me to exercise caution. That feeling gets amplified not only because I am new to this world, but also don’t come from a technical background (tech / software/ etc). I guess I need to learn the “don’t trust, verify” concept more in depth and start applying it. But I want to get hands on as soon as possible.
Last week I started learning about Nostr and using different clients. To be honest, even more so that the decentralized nature of the protocol and all the other benefits / characteristics, the one that attracted me the most was the absence of an algorithm and advertisements. In such a short of time, I am experiencing first hand the difference in energy, mental sharpness, focus, and even mood vs. using mainstream social media platforms. It is true that big platforms drain your energy, both mental and physical, drive people into negativity spirals, outrage and polarization. Quite the opposite of this and Bitcoin’s community, which prioritizes, encourages to drive your attention, energy, and time towards productive purposes, growth, the “proper” ways. I read recently that Bitcoin changes you and I believe it. New mental paradigms, more responsibility and accountability. It feels more natural, more true, more beautiful, more satisfactory. I am looking forward to becoming increasingly orange-pilled. Thought of the day.
Extremely digestible and fun to read for absolute newbies like me. I feel like, for pre-coiners, bitcoin can be a daunting topic that can be easily ignored and put aside for later due to the “novelty”, complexity (?)), etc. This book is great for giving you context and overall knowledge about bitcoin, so that you can understand what is going on next time you read that note, blog post, etc. Thank you very much for writing the book in a way that has made me enthusiastic about the topic and eager to learn all about it.
