Cash doesn’t scale for funding revolutions. But the most unstoppable, hardest and most decentralised money the world has ever known, does.

Even in one of the most oppressive and tech savvy states in the world - China, 🇨🇳 On chain and lightning Bitcoin payments work flawlessly as demonstrated by @Joe Nakamoto See: youtu.be/I4zjvfPLn5c image

Relief that @Joe Nakamoto also started his journey in the crypto / blockchain space and realised like me that it’s all useless / unproductive speculation or outright scam. BTW: my name on the YouTube live stream was “deasterman” - but need to change that!

Nostr is the number 2 decentralised social media network after Bluesky according to this chatGPT research: 1) Nostr overall (protocol, not just Primal) • Nostr itself — the decentralized protocol underlying apps like Primal — has been reported with millions of users across clients. One source cites over ~18 million registered users on the Nostr network as of mid-2023, across all clients and relays. 2) Mastodon (Fediverse, decentralized) • While not “Web3” in the blockchain sense, Mastodon is a decentralized social network and has historically seen millions of users. It surpassed 10 million registered user accounts in 2023 and had peak activity metrics in the millions. 3) Bluesky (AT Protocol) • Bluesky isn’t blockchain-backed but is decentralized by protocol (AT Protocol). It has tens of millions of users — e.g., around ~40 million by late 2025 according to recent reporting.

On Nostr, unlike web2 social media, you truly own your audience and followers as you can take them anywhere. Wish this had been ready when Musk took over Twitter as there was serious desire to switch at that point among many normies with big accounts, such as journalists and activists.

Wow that was an awesome quote / metaphor at 1:11:11 by @HODL - “The mainstream institutions are like a tree in a forest just before it falls down. It’s already dead and rotten, it just hasn’t fallen down yet”.

Sorry guys but the onboarding process with Alby is terrible and confusing. I would advise new users to avoid using Alby entirely.

Micro-payments like Zaps on a legacy social media platform with fiat would be impossible as most companies use Stripe and every transaction costs $0.3 minimum in fees. Medium (writing platform) for example integrates with Stripe and will only pay out once you receive a minimum of $10 in revenue share (which is quite hard to do)

Just joined primate yesterday - added my Wallet of Satoshi address to my profile. Can someone send me a tiny zap amount to test it's working? I tried zapping other people but seems I need to setup a connected account to get that working? Assuming that requires an Alby subscription or more technical setup? Also can't sign into Primal now without Alby extension active. What is the easiest way to disable that? Thanks in advance!
