Gm happy Sunday my friends!
These weeks have been stupid busy. But all is well. I’m perpetually awed by everything being built around nostr, and Bitcoin 🤙

Minor @Damus UI bug: as of the most recent couple TestFlight versions, uploading an image gets all squished in the note preview (replies and regular notes). They post fine though!

Love finding bitcoiners in the wild.
I complimented the dude in front of me at the coffee shop on his Bitcoin shirt. He was there with his wife and kids. Smiled, asked me, “orange pilled?” My answer, “entirely”.
When two bitcoiners acknowledge one another, there’s a very specific experience 🤙

Okay, so I know it’s random, but @ZEUS hands-down generates the coolest seed phrases, like every time. (No, I’m not telling).
Also, how do you generate a Bolt12 request? I’m on version 9 point something… #asknostr
Consider this my belated GM 🫂
*big cat stretch*
Visiting with a best friend this weekend; a late (and very nourishing) Sunday breakfast, followed by a walk in the park and some museum adventuring.
Today feels good 🤙

Kinda cool 🤙
Fiat mines have been so busy this month, this is the first time I’ve properly kicked back & chilled 🫠
It’s been “leave a GM or a thought on nostr” but I have had almost no time to explore new clients, get into real conversations with many of you, or just generally spend time here. And damn have I MISSED it, and all of you 🫂
I know there are probably half a dozen “loose end” threads with a thoughtful note/reply that I never answered, from at least a few frens. Sorry about that — will do my best to catch up. (FWIW I owe text & signal replies to my dad, cousin, and two best friends in meatspace too lol). But yeah I’m starting here 😉
What are some of you getting into this Friday, nostriches?
I’m loving how videos remember your spot when you tap them, after starting to watch it on the scrolling timeline, rather than starting over. Another nice improvement from the @Damus team 🤝
Yo @ODELL - on the recent CD with @craigraw and Steve (npub?) you were discussing the difficulty of calculating the amount of Bitcoin to hold in vaulted storage for #cashu mint runners, in order to remain liquid enough to service all the users’ transactions without running into issues.
Wouldn’t this just (roughly) be the same kind of calculation that traditional banks make, when identifying the fractional percentage of deposits to keep on hand vs lend out? Or is it so easy for banks to get extra fiatellos from a central bank that they needn’t worry?
Even so, if a mint were in a pinch, they would presumably have cold storage (non-vault) stack with which they could purchase ecash via a swap to cover edge cases while still protecting the majority of funds from a hack/rug…
Ultimately y’all are right: there’s plenty of time to develop creative solutions. But at least the math probably exists already - just need to ask a banker to compare notes.
