GM! Pensions are a scam and psyop. Do not rely on them. Almost every pension on the planet is underfunded, most are only officially funded 70-80% and that is with ridiculously optimistic assumptions(e.g. inflation will be <=2% and bonds will have a real return of >=6% with zero defaults). The real funding rate is likely much lower. Governments and companies use the promise of a pension as a carrot to pay lower wages now with the promise of a future payment, but then they turn around and refuse to set aside sufficient resources to pay those promises. Trust actions and data not words. They’re a lol of systemic oppression, a lie to get you to accept lower payment for your life’s hard work than you’d otherwise accept. Know that governments and companies will refuse to pay them if their financial house begins to collapse. You’re always one bankruptcy filing away from never seeing that pension. Self custody Bitcoin is yours forever.
