I have tried to explain this. Transaction speeed and fees are not what holds BTC back as a payment method. Read this guys entire thread. The real issues are accounting and volatility. Volatility can be solved with instant conversion to something like USDT but then what it the point of accepting Bitcoin. Tax policy is the big issue. The future for now Bitcoin = Money (tapped into for major things otherwise a long term store of value, what you should convert surplus currency into) Dollar = Currency (what you will get paid with mostly, what you will use for most day to day expenses) bUt iTs NoT sUppOseD tO bE tHaT wAY Yea well your mom isn't supposed to like me more than she like you, but here we are anyway.

And what did we do for about 20 years after than when silver was still commonly found in change? Picked out the silver and saved it. Money has value because the market says so. Currency has value because the state says so. Sometimes things are BOTH, but it usually doesn't last. Anyone with the power to print money for themselves in time is going to use it. Today we are swinging the other way leaving a failing currency behind and adopting a new money. It will likely take 30-50 years to be fully realized, this is year 15. That means we are still early.
