Bought a little self-custody bitcoin today… powerful stuff.

A contentious update pushed into Bitcoin core and scammers rejoice… what is going on? Is this what an attack on Bitcoin looks like, a series of small updates that eventually make running a node infeasible for the average person?

I’m beginning to think we might go up forever here guys…

There are a lot of people saying a lot of things in the bitcoin space right now… I’m just going to stay humble and stack says while I wait out all the commotion.

When transaction fees are high: “we need to change Bitcoin or else no one can transact!” When transaction fees are low: “we need to change Bitcoin or else the miners won’t make enough money!” ENOUGH. It’s all so tiresome. The cost to mine bitcoin is negative, low fees are good. Extrapolate the data folks, bitcoin is doing just fine.

I would like to personally thank the toxic bitcoin maximalists. You have altered my life in a way that only a fellow bitcoiner can understand. Thriving and inspired for the future; full of hope.

It’s not sats vs bits, it’s sats AND bits. It’s like saying, “since we have sats, we can’t say one full bitcoin anymore… you have to say 100,000,000 sats.” Bits is a 1-100 denomination of bits-sats just like dollars are a 1-100 denomination of dollars-cents. It makes understanding bitcoin adoption easier for newcomers because most currencies around the world have the same 1-100 denomination. In a Bitcoin there are one million bits, or 100 million sats. I explained this to my wife who isn’t all that well versed in the nuances of bitcoin and it was a breakthrough moment for her in understanding what makes up a bitcoin. If you own one full bitcoin you are a millionaire in my eyes. #MakeMillionairesGreatAgain
