It’s not sats vs bits, it’s sats AND bits. It’s like saying, “since we have sats, we can’t say one full bitcoin anymore… you have to say 100,000,000 sats.” Bits is a 1-100 denomination of bits-sats just like dollars are a 1-100 denomination of dollars-cents. It makes understanding bitcoin adoption easier for newcomers because most currencies around the world have the same 1-100 denomination. In a Bitcoin there are one million bits, or 100 million sats. I explained this to my wife who isn’t all that well versed in the nuances of bitcoin and it was a breakthrough moment for her in understanding what makes up a bitcoin.
