Check it out, just released nq (Nostr Quora), a web application for managing a FROST multisig quorum over a nostr key. I've occasionally seen people asking for this for years now, and I don't think any of the existing FROST projects really tick all the boxes (correct me if I'm wrong though). This tool uses DKG to ensure that no member holds the complete key material, and allows for rotating members in/out. It also has quorum chat (using NIP 17) so that you can have a conversation about proposed events. I recommend you create a separate nostr key when using this, not just because this is alpha software (90% vibe coded protocol and code), but also because these messages will clutter your NIP 17 DMs and vice versa. If you're interested, here's a quick demo: If you'd like to try it, visit

PSA to anyone who signed up to Flotilla before I released Caravel: I have some good news and some bad news: The bad news is, I accidentally wiped the member lists on the relays. I will see what I can do to restore these, but you may have to re-invite participants. The good news is you can now manage your relay at by signing in with nostr! My apologies for the disruption, my hacks caught up with me ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I present to you @Cheesman, a multi-sig 2/3 quorum. No one holds the private key; it was generated using DKG across three separate parties using a new tool I'm working on. I should have it out tomorrow if all goes well.

@npub19ma2...axkl catallax looks pretty good, nice work! I like that you acknowledge the inherently political nature of funding by including roles like curators and arbiters. Relying on people's judgment rather than just systems is the only way to make this work (especially on nostr, which has no smart contracting capabilities โ€” in this case I think that's a feature). I do have one question: do curators and arbiters get paid? Their work is crucial, and both (but especially arbiters) are difficult, skilled labor. I think you would end up with low quality or a dearth of people to fill these roles if they were completely pass through.

OpenSats puts very few restrictions on what grantees do. Here's an exhaustive list: - Code must be released under an open source license - Projects must stick close to the roadmap proposed in the grant application - Grantees must address @ODELL as Lord Mayor Sats Sir - No vaping and vibing - No coding while taking a bath (for grantees' own safety) - All code must be written using camelCase naming conventions - Products must be abandoned within two weeks of grant completion - Grantees may not talk to one another except in Esperanto - Specs must be published where no one will ever find them or read them - Grantees may not make use of magic, witchcraft, sorcery, neuromancy, familiars (except AI), demonic spirits, alchemy, or occult sigils (with an exception made for inscriptions made on silicon wafers) - Grantees must include the phrase "Christine Lagarde can suck eggs" somewhere in the source code of their project. We need more good nostr projects! Please visit at
