My first biltong in over a decade:
When incorporating a big project to my "things I can do list", I don't add the big complex project. It's too big & complex that I'll likely ignore it & then get judgemental over my lack of willpower. The thing is, it's not usually willpower I lack, its just how my mind works.
For instance, if I wanted a biltong box to make use of free heated air I wouldn't add "build biltong box" to my list. I'd add the first critical step. At this point I've already decided what I want & researched how to build it. My first step might be "procure small cupboard" or "buy 6x4; buy hole saw; buy wood screwsβ. I have to make it easy for myself to get started on the bigger project & mitigate against the project stalling.
I don't need to capture everything I do, down on a list. Just the things I can't prioritise or keep forgetting.
