We seem to be living in interesting times.. so here's a half joking prediction... At the next general election labour and the tories will be wiped out. Reform will win. Thats not hard to see. But AdvanceUK will be a stalking horse. By the 2030's here how's i see it playing out.. Reform will be the party of globalisim, multi culturalism and multi faith Britain supported by a largely metropolitan elite and monied interests. AdvanceUk will be the party of British nationalism, positively promting British culture and a Christian nation largely supported by the working classes, craftsmen, the landed gentry and the farming community. The battle lines are being drawn, the old sytem is dying. It may lash out as it does so. It may demand a price in blood. As a nation we may have to decide if its a price worth paying. Bitcoin fixes nothing. The future will be far more religious and militaristic than we can imagine. That future will belong to who is prepared to be the most brutal. We had loads of these around old buildings when i was a much younger man.. Except they where better because instead of rhe spring there was a shirt bar with a round weight on the end. All of them were cast iron. I'm sure an enterprising crafts person could get into casting metal and find a market. Done another batch of concreting the workshed. This bit is for the workbench when it moves in. Next job is to do the other two sides, but these wont be as deep so should take up a lot less gravel and concrete and be quicker to do. The idea is to have a ring around the sides and a gravel bed to stand on. Which should be more comfortable. The next minor job to sort is the storage. That will be a big help. Got the coping cap cemented on to the garden gate pillar for my partner and nicked some sand and top soil. Also cleared out the drain on one of her wicking beds i made for her last year. Used the sand at mine to fill in some mortar gaps in the flagstones and added the top soil to the garden bed. Been to the youngests new home. It's very lovely and will suit her and her partner as a starter home very nicely. Built some furniture for them whilst her mum painted a wall.
