I had 'running Linux' on my 2026 todo list. Had, done. Has taken me about a week (on/off, probably 6hrs in total) to install, update, upgrade etc and get it to where I want. Granted I haven't really got a clue what I'm doing but it's on, it's looking good and I'm happy. A massive thank you to The Oden Project for the exceptionally detailed instructions. Small steps are progress.

After typing 'crypto' my keyboard then predicts 'scam' as a viable next word. I've been using the FUTO keyboard for about 7 weeks and can't remember ever using those words side by side. I assume this is due to its training.

Non crypto people will not understand the term "decentralized money", why would they. There's only one way money works to them, cash goes in the bank, cash comes out the bank. The leap of faith expected of most people to buy in to blockchain technology is insurmountable. And while I'm here, there will not be mass adoption of Bitcoin until people think "why would I pay in fiat, when it's better and cheaper with Bitcoin". All the tech and education in the world will not cut through. We are simple creatures, keep it simple and win.

Do shit, have deadlines if you must, have expectations, work 18hr days, don't switch off, live and breathe it. I've just came across and signed up to The Odin Project, I'm fucking doing this! Nostr (and some on X) - the speed and openness at which you build has genuinely inspired me, It's kept me interested in what's happening, it's switched my brain in to 'build' mode and I've learnt a bit too. Thank you. I've always enjoyed tech and tinkering but never pushed it any further. But watching people push products over a weekend (yes no with an AI agent or maybe a bit buggy) and the rise and rise of AI agents has had an effect on me. When that first GitHub project lands I'll be smitten (only for a day).... this is fucking happening.

Just been to the Kurdish barbers for my annual shear. It feels so nice. Close shave, flammed ears, hot wax up the nose and about 9" of hair and a good chunk off the beard. I floated down the street.
