Found a way to encode 5 bytes in pronounceable two 20 bits words, for example `mipdop_rajbov`.mns.alt... this is most likely the limit, any more bytes will require more words.
With three words we can have a million times larger namespace, but is it worth it?

Americans call China a communist "planned economy", but I see them praying and celebrating rate cuts like their business depends on it .. sounds planned to me, maybe poorly planned but it is top down alright.
asking sincerely; if you are designing something that requires custom relays with zero deployment at the moment... What advantage do you get from making them Nostr relays... Vs designing your own API?
To be clear; Negentropy isn't unique, in fact it was a ported to Nostr from other ecosystems..
I am about to build something that requires a p2p gossip, and I want to stealman the compatibility with Nostr relays.

On one hand, it is a shame that all the great work from Proton is not self hostable, many isn't even open source .. on the other hand, it is not clear you can make so many quality software without aggressively optimizing for revenue... And it is not even clear that a protocol would get as strong adoption as a strong brand.
Still a shame because while I could pay, I know companies go out of business.. and I want things that can last.
The fact that phones forced the convergence to feed UI, makes me think all phone apps can become terminals and CLIs + some careful adjustments to replace some navigation shortcuts with gestures!
I am biased though because I enjoy developing CLIs way more than UIs
I just remembered that Americans tend to write phone numbers in ads as letters based on the phone keypad.. so maybe the similarity to phone numbers UX is deeper than I thought.

Israel’s Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich:
"We conquer, cleanse, and stay... On the way, we annihilate everything that still remains.….We're breaking Gaza apart, leaving it as a pile of rubble, total unprecedented destruction."

Scarce names aren't mutually exclusive with public keys... We should use both like we use domains and IPs .. but Pkarr is better than IPs.

I just realized that the USA enjoyed an absolute hegemony (as defined by lack of any challenges or challengers) for as long as I lived, since the USSR collapsed until China started beating them at global trade and industrial capacity and couldn't be ordered to stop, as many vassals before China were.
Seemed endless for me, but looking back, it maybe not so much...
I always wanted to have sovereign domain names with the UX of phone numbers;
- can I have your domain?
- sure; it is O4DK, SFBQ!
*Writes*: o4dk_sfbq.mns.alt
#WIP (unless I discover a fatal design flaw) #MNS
Deepmind are constantly making miracles and absolutely nobody gives a shit!
Remember that the next time you feel sad about your obscure side project.
We can and should have 8 characters sovereign identifiers/domains (shorter than a phone number, and enough for trillion users).
If Ark succeeds and scales... there is a good chance it could make Pkarr obsolete in every way. Oh well!
"Don't trust, verify" is not the main value of Bitcoin, people were always willing to extend transitive trust ... what Bitcoin uniquely offered for the first time is dynamic membership of service providers "miners and full nodes".
The primary risk isn't services stealing, it is services getting regulated.
This is what is missing from all the "just use multisig bro" arguments against extending Bitcoin script to support sidesystems that are hard to destroy.
Feeds still undefeated since RSS... everything else is just too expensive that guarantees the centralisation that Feeds just accept from the get go.
Also, curators are good actually.
