In Venezuela, the population grows more vulnerable with each passing day. The simple act of working has become a kind of harsh karma. If you manage to build a profitable business, various people close to the regime will soon arrive to seize your company through constant threats. They might even fabricate crimes against you to eliminate you. Wage earners work only to survive, as salaries are so meager they are insufficient for anything. While in the private sector there is a certain level of compensation where some people can earn between $50 and $80 a week, public employees such as teachers, nurses, and doctors face a bleak reality: their base salary does not exceed $5 a month. The so-called "bonuses," which are not part of the base salary, attempt to partially alleviate this wage crisis. However, these extra amounts are not counted toward long-term compensation, such as social benefits and pensions. This situation creates an absolute dependence on an all-powerful and malevolent state, to which citizens must kneel to receive the crumbs necessary for their survival. The future of Venezuelans, under the leadership of Maduro and his inner circle, appears bleak and hopeless, But the solution is in our hands. We must rise up and fight to remove these bandits from power. How long will we wait for others to do our job? We are an entire people who are against them. We need to take to the streets and bring down this evil and corrupt regime. Enough is enough!
Dear Diary, Today, as I carefully observed the reality around us, I contemplated with a mixture of sadness and indignation how the various social media platforms have become breeding grounds for "news" as false as the intentions of many people I know. These digital media outlets only publish what the masses want to hear, without caring about the truth, without caring about the consequences. Journalistic ethics, once a fundamental pillar, seems to have completely disappeared; now only "likes," views, and the algorithms that determine the reach of information matter. It is heartbreaking to witness how many people are deluded by what these fraudsters publish online, taking it as a lifeline of hope amidst their despair and the lack of freedom that overwhelms them in every aspect of their lives. We live in a rich nation, but one held hostage by those who only seek their own benefit at the expense of the people. A nation where ordinary people have lost all their fundamental rights. I fervently hope that this situation will soon change, that the light of truth and justice will finally illuminate our lives. With hope for a better tomorrow, Argenis Tavacare
In Venezuela, the systematic violation of human rights has become a painful daily reality. Day after day, the regime's prisons fill with new political prisoners, citizens whose only crime was expressing an opinion contrary to the established power. Any dissenting voice is silenced through unfounded accusations of terrorism, treason, and all manner of fabricated charges that the repressive machinery deems convenient. Institutional independence is nonexistent; the State functions as a monolith where a single head thinks, plans, and executes every action, not for the benefit of the people, but to perpetuate the privileges of a corrupt elite that occupies the highest positions. Meanwhile, a desperate people cry out for freedom, for justice, for the fundamental right to live with dignity in their own land.
