When I started Vibe coding stuff, I just let the Ilm pick the stack a lot of the time. I think this was a mistake. I have wanted to work with and learn Ruby most of my tech life. I should of made it a priority in projects to help me accomplish that task.

I’ve been working on my own “Indie” blogging platform. Mainly for myself, but I’m going to try to offer it as a service for cheap. Maybe $2 a month or something just so I can pay for the VPS.

If you had the choice, you could have the same service on either the web or a native app and they have the exact identical features. Which would you prefer?

I want to switch to Android and I’m not sure which phone to go with. I want to be able to use my own apps which is main cause for the switch. I don’t have a Mac nor do I want to pay $100 a year for the right on my iPhone. Suggestions?

Whenever I get stuck on a project I step away and spend some time on others to clear my head. This leads to multiple projects with various roadblocks waiting to be solved...what have I done!
Todays hot take:
Function > Looks
Simplicity > Looks
UI < Function and Simplicity.
Of course this is trumped when the UI offers the simplicity. But Function still wins. I could care less if an app looks good, as long as it does what I need well.
I’m at a loss for the excitement over the Orange iPhone, aren’t they all just going to put a case on it?
Just thinking out loud, but right now I see the decentralized social site score card as #Nostr in the lead, #Bluesky in second place, since they have the potential to be decentralized, and #Mastodon third being held up by activity pub.
I'm choosing from two icons for the system tray in my #Linux bunker signer app.. which do you think?
