Good morning nostr, today i'll be trying to spend as much time outside as i can. We are still without power, so not alot to do inside. It got below freezing last night, so we had light the woodstove, after thinking we were done for the season. Its been an unusual winter for us. This little butane stove has been a lifesaver during our power outage. Simple to use. So far i've used it to boil water for the french press, so we have coffee; Made scrambled eggs on it for breakfast; heated up some homemade corn tortillas on it for dinner. We have a grill and a smoker outside, but its been nice to have this little thing in the house. Highly recommend for emergencies. Not a great pic since we are on lantern lighting right now. #ButaneStove #Preparedness

Good night nostr, we still have no power, so had to bring out the camp lanterns for the evening. Its inconvenient, but the important thing is that we are safe and the fires didnt get too close to us. It'll be close to freezing tonight, but again we are blessed to have a nice woodstove and plenty of firewood. Yall have a good evening friends. #StuffHappens #grateful

Its a crappy pic, but i finally saw this little screech owl in the box. I walk by this box all the time, on my trail walks, and its the first time i've seen him. Nice little surprise. #nature #ScreechOwl

We still have no power, but i think we're out of fire danger. One thing that we used most when it was still dark this morning is headlamps. Its so much easier to perform a task without having to hold a flashlight in your hand. I'll be getting a couple more headlamps after this. Just set up the Starlink Mini, connected to the Jackery, which is connected to the solar panel. Real world testing in a real power outage, so far its working great, and we have internet. Glad i spent time thinking about this ahead of time. #preparedness #Testing

Good morning nostr, we're sort of in emergency mode cuz our power went out at 11pm last night, and is still out. During the night the winds sounded ferocious, and it came with a cold front. We went from close to 90 yesterday, tonite should be 43🥶. But i got my handy dandy little butane stove out and heated some water for the french press, so we have coffee. If power doesnt return by daylight my husband will start up the generators for the freezers. Also, i thought we were done with the woodstove for the season, but no.
