Good morning nostr, its a frigid 19 degrees, but we are nice and toasty with only the heat from our woodstove. Well, i did put a small heater in front of a kitchen faucet that is on an exterior wall. So today i'll be doing my volunteer shift at the resale shop, then just some cleaning up all the ice and mud around the house and porch. I was afraid our Starlink receiver on the roof might fail since we had some decent ice accumulation, but then i read that it has an automatic sensor that heats up the unit to defrost itself. Just cooked up some chickpeas cuz i read they're good for you. I dont think i had ever cooked my own chickpeas, even though i've had them on salads at restaurants. To my surprise, they are very tasty! Just like most other things, homemade is always best. I used organic ones that are from a family farm in the US. Good morning nostr, i'm looking forward to seeing some sunshine today, finally. We'll thaw out, then get another hard freeze tonite, then i think thats it for this round. Last nite my husband and i were discussing how it would be nice to have a real barn for the animals, we'll see. We've been seeing lots of pretty songbirds around the birdbaths, since one of them has a pump that mostly keeps it thawed. Cardinals, yellow rumped warblers, cedar waxwings, goldfinches, keeping us entertained as we watch from our windows. Even in frigid temps, nature has lots of beauty. Hey nostr, its been a gloomy, cold day weatherwise, but we're staying warm and so far all the critters are still alive. Its been a challenge keeping their water containers thawed out, but hopefully just a couple more days and we'll be out of the woods.
