Good morning nostr, and happy friday. Today we might venture out to the resale shop (maybe), then we a have couple errands in town. I love this time of year, not really for the holidays, but just the weather here where i live. Such a welcome relief after our very long, hot summers. Today i want to harvest as many peppers as i can. Mostly all i have left is chile piquin, and they are exploding with peppers these days. They freeze well, plus i need to dehydrate some to make a powder. Anyway, yall have a great friday, enjoy your coffee, and remember that today is a gift. #coffeechain #homesteading image

Today i spent the day outside again, watered some plants, transplanted a yaupon holly, and picked some peppers before it gets to cool for them. My trail walk today was especially enjoyable because of the perfect weather, so i cant think of a better way to spend a day. Yall have a good evening nostr friends. #homesteading #PerfectDay image

All the talk about Snap benefits is so over the top, and just sensationalism. There are plenty of real food sources for people who are truly in need of food. I volunteer at our local food pantry, and see folks pass over fresh vegetables donated by local gardeners all the time. The reality is they want cereals and boxed foods, so they dont have to actually cook for their kids. There are very few exceptions, at least from what i have seen in my town. #Snap

Lucy's begging to come inside. I told her she needs to stop chasing the pigeons, then we can consider it. #dogstr image

Good morning nostr, its a bit chilly this morning, but not enough to light the woodstove yet. We wanted to let the central heat start up, just so we can test it for the season. Its a pretty new system (last year), and we havent had to use the heater much at all. So today i'll be trying to plan where i'll be installing the t-posts for the chicken run. I wish we would get some more rain so the ground softens a bit more. But it gives me time to plan better. Anyway, yall have a great thursday, enjoy your coffee, and do your work with a happy heart. #coffeechain #homesteading image
