TIL that during the 3rd Mithridatic war against Rome, a fairly large meteor struck the ground during the middle of a major battle. Apparently it landed right in the middle as the two sides were about to engage. Both armies decided to pull back & fight another day… I think that’s the strangest celestial coincidence I’ve heard of in quite a while

I lived in Bulgaria for a few months back in 2017 in an old village. These people were living under communism for years. Everyone had a yard like this, no lawns. Community watering system, a communal spring for drinking water, community wine presses, community firewood splitter. No ornamental trees, only fruit & nut trees.
