Something’s off at OFF Is this truly the vibe of my tribe? And is it just me that feels hypocrisy? I cannot really put my finger on it, but something about this show does not feel legit. All of the words say that I should belong, so why on earth do I feel something’s wrong? I’m grateful to be here, maybe it’s just too good to be true. And my HRF grant is long overdue. But instead of imagining a world without borders, I learned about the violence of statist orders, And I guess that’s where I feel so torn, are we building the future or are we watching torture porn? This is the place where beauty meets rich, Bathed in the smell of unearned privilege, Which makes me ask this question once more: Is this truly freedom, or just sharks smelling gore? What an incredible hitch I pulled of day: Copenhagen-Cologne 7 hops, 12h, ~900km After an oatmeal breakfast, Bus 250S took me to the highway. Lars, a Hells Angel with cap, sunglasses and mustache and his Harley on the trailer, did the heavy lifting and got me on the highway. Taking me to the closest gas station that led west from Copenhagen. Would’ve loved to drive longer than 30 min with him and hear more stories about his experiences in Amsterdam in the eighties. Said he’s gonna think about this trip while smoking his evening joint. Arne was coming from his son’s graduation party in Copenhagen but left two days earlier than his wife to catch a ferry from Jutland back to Norway. He took me to a gas station close to Odense on Fyn and left with new perspectives on Anarchism. Conversation was respectful although there were big differences in perception. We said we’re going to meet ten years from now again, grill some fish and see what has happened until then. Björn was what I had imagined a Björn to be. Just a chilled truck driver with a round face and smile, a calmness from being several million kilometers on the road and a fable for expensive whiskey. My drive with Ali was more like a 2h rave. We talked Party, Excesses, Drugs and Girls while listening to House and Techno on full blast in his BMW. After we crossed the border, where we didn’t get checked due to my radiating white privilege, we tested out the speed limit of German highways. Xavier, a French guy living in Denmark and working with wind turbines, was incredibly helpful in getting around Hamburg and dropped me on the highway that would lead all the way home. His head was visibly smoking after I left the car. I call this #Bitcoin-Information-Overload-Syndrom. Mario and Antonio were as sporty in driving as they are on horses. Apparently the latter was participating in the Olympics as a dressage rider. His car was just as well dressed as his free section, an Audi S6 with fancy fittings. Also he downloaded @primal as soon as I told him about it. Lastly Mari who was the real hero of the day, overcoming her initial reservations and taking me all the way home. If you ever need a paint job done, I know the one to do it. Humans are wonderful. Go out and meet them.

Today’s hitchhiking learning: Use public transport to get to the best spot to hitchhike out of the city. Or to get through a city. Today’s hitchhike: Oslo - Gothenburg, 300km, 1 hop, several buses It all started with a nice breakfast at the central bank. Some girl in a bakery was preparing me to slices of bread. Then I went to the spot where I was dropped off, when I was arriving in Oslo, thinking it would be the best place to get back. Turns out it wasn’t, but the right one was just a bus-ride away. Here I met Thim, who was coming from Bergen, where he got his tattoo finished, that now covers his left leg. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go towards Stockholm or back to wards Denmark, and since he drove towards Gothenburg I guess I’m heading back home without detour. I asked him to drop me of a little outside the city because I thought I could easier catch a ride around the city from there. Dumbest decision of the day. The rest of the day I was fixing the consequences of that decision and ended up with a camp fire next to a lake in the middle of the woods. Cannot complain. Toasting some bread, than going to bed. Hitchhiking to @HRF OFF Kopenhagen-Oslo 600km, 2 Hops, 7,5h This morning I was woken up in Christiania by one word: "Action!" The rest of the day felt like a movie. They say the hardest thing about hitchhiking is getting to the highway and today I had to dodge ticket inspectors in the metro. Then I was singing "It’s a beautiful day" to lift my spirit, while walking through the rain and having no clue on when or how I’d arrive in Oslo today. Turned out I only needed two people. First person was Ali, who was taking his Bolt cab back from Copenhagen airport to Malmø and since he wouldn’t find a paying customer, he would take me across the Øresund and drop me of at the first gas station in Sweden. Then I hit the fucking jackpot. Mon frère Armine was already on a 1100km roadtrip from Roubaix to arrive at the perfect place and time to tell me he’s going to Oslo and will gladly help me get there too. During the first of six hours I was convinced I was riding with a drug smuggler, since he was smoking big blunts behind the wheel, saying that he was going to Norway for making a good amount of money for working with medical deliveries. The rest of the drive was filled with me picking up my school French again, Rap Marseillaise and games of chess. Limits are the domain of the limited.

Hitchhiking to @HRF OFF Today started with an hour of hiking to get to the right side of the highway. From there 250km , 2 hops, 3,5h Second guy I asked if he was going towards Copenhagen was Kurt, who delivers #Steak to restaurants for one of Denmarks biggest beef producers. He took me from Jutland to Fyn and dropped me of at a gas station close to Odense. 100 guys later Morten&Simon pulled up and were like:"Bro, jump in we’re heading to Copenhagen." They were working for denmarks biggest broadcaster and were filming a documentary about the impact of #AI in school environments. Then we went to explore Christiania, but that’s a story for another day. GN from a cozy place in an anarchist utopia.

Hitchhiking to @HRF OFF Today’s hitch went from Cologne to Kolding. 700km, 5 Hops, 10h Love got me on the highway. Finn and Dean were going to Berlin to celebrate the birthday of their friend Kirk, and drove me in warp speed to Hannover. Here I met Oliver, who took me until the gates of Hamburg. Thies and Anne were crucial in getting me around Hamburg on their way to say their last farewell to their aunt/sister and dropped me off on the perfect gas station to head towards Denmark. Here I met two Danes, Martin and Jens who were coming from Nijmegen where they traded a bunch of grass seeds. They dropped me at the perfect spot to stay for the night and continue my journey tomorrow morning towards Copenhagen. Shelter is in true hitchhike-hygge fashion.
