Thank you Nostr community, I appreciate what we have here. I've had a bit of a break from Nostr lately. After a rough summer of family sickness, tragic animal deaths, devastating drought (that destroyed years of work on the homestead) and the usual stresses of life, I fell in to a deep funk, a low I hadn't experienced for many decades. Starting to feel better I decided I'd rejoin Nostr and I wasn't disappointed. To see people building their lives better, sharing their life experiences, heartaches and family joy was uplifting once again. I've laughed, felt empathy and enjoyed my time on Nostr. So thank you all for all that you and Nostr are. #grownostr #community

The benefits of designing the life you want to live? Being able to take a day off whenever you want and take your daughter to her sports competition. I wouldn't have remembered today if I'd worked, but I'll remember my daughter competing and she'll remember that I put her day above my own. If you're not designing your own life, then someone else is. #tsp #thesurvivalpodcast #family #lifestyledesign #grownostr

This year's Australian election is going to be a real Battle of Hogwarts affair, Harry Potter vs Voldemort. Was also exited to hear the governor general was going to "dissolve the house of reps", but then saddened that's its only so they can get elected by idiots again. 😂 image #Australia #straya #politics #anarchy #grownostr

It's raining.....and I'm actually emotional. We haven't had rain in over four months and it's finally rained again, not light drizzle or fog, but big heavy drops. The kids are excited and cheering like they've never seen it before. I saw a Magpie looking at a puddle as if it had never seen one before, maybe it hadn't. Never take water for granted. #Australia #SouthAustralia #rain #permaculture #prepping #grownostr

Took the kids down to a local park to see some re-enactors. Had a chat, the kids got to hold the weapons and they experienced some firing. My son loves playing Napoleonic era video games, so he enjoyed it. #musket #history #Australia #grownostr https://v.nostr.build/Yiw2wvmJgk04PAhg.mp4

In Australia we play a version of Russian Roulette while driving, I call it Redgum Roulette. You play by simply driving home under the overhanging branches of hundreds of drought affected Gumtrees. They tend to just randomly drop multi-tonne branches without warning when it's dry. It's great fun making it home without dying! The current Playstation Network outage really highlights how we don't really own our devices anymore, we just rent them. Offline games on the console won't work without psn and you can't change offline settings without psn. Without permission you can't use your own media. #Playstation #psn #bigtech

Adelaidians, if you are, or know of anyone, who runs a food truck in Adelaide or South Australia, who wants a gig on the 22nd of Feb and 8th of Feb, please let me know. The opportunity is in the Adelaide CBD on the above dates. I can pass on any interest to the person running the event. #Adelaide #foodtruck #Radelaide #SA #Southaustralia

It's been a terrible summer for productivity, we are in drought, no rain for months and a 40° heatwave for the last few days. Most of the veg I started is dead weeks ago, with little water, and I've just been in life support mode for my trees to get them through, although lots have died. One positive was our plum tree. It produced well without much water and in the heat. Came home yesterday and my wife had whipped up a few jars of delicious plum jam. I'm planning to store one away for winter to celebrate making it through this horrid summer. Got to look at the positives, including my wonderful family. #homesteading #permaculture #grownostr #family image
