„The cycle is natural. The growing destruction is not.
El Niño and La Niña have influenced global weather for centuries. But today, these natural cycles are moving through a planet heated by human activity.
El Niño can worsen heat and drought in many regions. La Niña can intensify heavy rainfall and flooding elsewhere. Their effects vary—but a warmer atmosphere can make the consequences far more destructive.
Climate change did not create these cycles. It is turning up the dial on the damage.
One side burns. The other drowns. And humanity still has its hand on the dial.
We cannot stop El Niño or La Niña—but we can stop making every extreme more dangerous.“
