I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this.
I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

Todays pond report is turkeys! There’s a little gaggle? Herd? White meat serving? Not sure what they’re called when they hang out together. They’re enjoying the corn I put out for the deer. They’re (mostly) safe on my land. I have 8 that were going to butcher out the Saturday before thanksgiving this year, at least 2 were keeping. That said, every once in a while a tom hangs around my corral. If he does that in hunting season I’m taking him down.

Morning pond report is cold! There were some beavers playing in the pond when I was out earlier with my water, none stayed for the pic.

Morning pond report is a birds! 2x a year there is a flock of 10’s of thousands of black birds that fly through. The noise level when they’re in the property is deafening & it is truly a glorious sight to see them all flitting from tree to tree. Unfortunately they’re on the other side of the house today & in the far tree line so not a good pic.
