I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this. I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

Morning Nostriches Morning pond report is a birds! 2x a year there is a flock of 10’s of thousands of black birds that fly through. The noise level when they’re in the property is deafening & it is truly a glorious sight to see them all flitting from tree to tree. Unfortunately they’re on the other side of the house today & in the far tree line so not a good pic. #coffeechain

Morning Nostriches! Morning pond report is light! I was able to get some deck time again this morning within an hour of getting up. Still hate daylight savings time, but fall back is much easier on me than spring forward. #coffeechain

Morning Nostriches! Morning pond report is lovely today. Really enjoying the fall show this year. It’s a stunning gift from nature. Pretty soon all the leaves will be down & I’ll be able to see further. More sun is coming through the house nowadays as I am on a sough facing hill. Just love this time of year. #coffeechain
