It’s official, no deer this year, I’ve broken my streak. It was a sad time to put that bow away yesterday. So the morning pond report is that it was a cold day in Mudville.

I live on 14.5 acres in Amish country in Ohio. I have raised chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits & sheep. I’ve planted cherries, hazelnuts, peaches, mulberries, paw paws, apples, pears & nectarines. I garden (badly) but I am learning more every year. I work remotely for a bank as a mortgage underwriter- fingers crossed I am still doing that when you read this.
I hunt on my land - have gotten 5 deer since I moved out here. Into everything homesteading.

It’s a bitter -15 on the pond today so today’s report is cold! Still no deer on my game cam. With days left it’s not looking promising. My boiler went out this morning so we lit a fire. Luckily we got the boiler back up & running within a few hours as my house bleeds heat quick!
