Something that has always bothered me is how quickly art is forgotten. It was a big inspiration for my WIP novel, the fear of forgetting.
It took me a while to get the hang of this, but I actually really like Nostr. I was reflecting this morning about how I first heard about Bitcoin in 2014 via some #gaming news (hackers installed a BTC miner on a Far Cry 4 server IIRC). It took me over 10 years before I finally bought some. For the longest time I hated Bitcoin because it drove up the prices on my gaming PC parts. I didn't understand the tech or my need for it, but in a weird way the overpriced parts slowly pushed me away from gaming addiction and toward #FOSS. Without spending years studying/using #opensource software (and being really poor) I never would have found the "need" for BTC. I have the need now for sure. Hopefully I can get in earlier on the Nostr goldrush!
I have not been writing or reading much lately because I am in love. I never realized how much time being in love takes, and I'm very okay with it.
Something anyone who does technical writing can learn from AI is the importance of formatting text in a clear and readable way. Text formatting is something that has always fascinated me, especially in creative writing. Obviously AI doesn't do it very creatively (AI does it pragmatically), but it's worth drawing attention to an art that is often overlooked.
Tempted to check out #Shakespeare and #vibecode a native #Linux NOSTR client for myself. How worried should I be about doxing my NSEC? I should probably not be lazy and use a burner account...
Late night Bitcoin confession: I almost fell for a "send me some BTC and I'll double it" scam earlier this year. I was one click away before I double checked and came to my senses. ... Almost!
Just read an article about the new #JPMorgan building in #NYC. It's really sad when you compare the #USA to #Europe because in Europe, the #church or cathedral is often the center of the city. It's the most expensive and valuable place. It is the symbolic center of everyday life. In America... It's banks. Even where I live they are on every street and crowd out churches. "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
The winning line of today's MSN slop: "Folks are still going into Costco with an automatic weapon because they're out of cheese whiz," she stressed.
Is there a decent NOSTR app for #Linux desktop? Amethyst is great on #Android but all of the browser clients I have tried on my laptop are laggy.
