Lots of produce harvested yesterday but the biggest thing was the last of the #Garlic harvested. I'm feeling okay with getting 923 bulbs out of the 1011 cloves I planted last October. 13 varieties this year will be expanded to 21 for this next season. I plan to put over 2000 cloves in the ground which will make for quite the harvest in one year. NOw it hangs to dry and cure then I will sort and save my seed which will get put in the cooler to stratify for a few months. #homesteading #farming #gardening #food #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Most of the #garlic has been harvested and is hanging to dry/cure now with about 15% left to pull. Trying to time it right and not let them go too long but long enough to be full sized. With the hot temps our little Fly Catcher needed to cool off in the breeze. It opened its wing and tail feathers then fluffed up its under feathers to allow the air to get to its skin. Hard working little bird keeping the 4 chicks fed! #Homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The garden is producing pretty well now and the garlic has slowed some so I am just pulling the ones that are ready. Got in a really short flight mid day and ended up with the scooter throtlle handle dead just as I neared my car back on launch. Not the flight I wanted but it's the flight I got. #homesteading #paragliding #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

At least we got berries picked yesterday. The raspberry plants are still super loaded in their best production ever. I just wish they were a bit larger more like blackberries so they'd be easier to pick. All good though as we got over 2.5 pounds on a tray in the freezer. #homesteading #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The garden is producing and the beets look quite nice. I've found I've lost some of the garlic I had planted so likely won't reach my 1000 goal, but they are still doing pretty good this year. Next year I will be taking over the main garden rows for the garlic which will take some figuring out for winter. #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Went north yesterday to climb/boulder and then go sailing on the Columbia River with my oldest friend. The boys had a blast and we had a great afternoon on the water. The clouds seemed to have kept most people off the river so we largely had it to ourselves. We got a killer fireworks display all the way home as they were going off big time. Mortars were flying all over the place! #climbing #sailing #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The garlic harvest continues! 383 dug over the day yesterday which brings me to almost half of the 1000 I planted last year. Lessons are being learned and plans for this next planting are already forming in my head. Likely the farm will continue to be turned to potatoes and garlic with the gvarlic taking over the main garden this next year. #homesteading #farming #gardening #garlic #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The greenhouse is now dealt with and the tomatoes are trimmed and tied. In the late afternoon yesterday I found that I have #Garlic that is ready. 2 rows were dug which gave me 110 bulbs, the same number I planted last fall. Siberian and Silver White varieties and I got some much nicer sized bulbs this year with better more consistent watering. More rows to dig today and I hope I get the 1000+ I planted when all done. #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

I managed to get to the greenhouse before it got blazing hot yesterday and caged the peppers before trimming and tying the cucumber plants. The tomatoes will be done today. I cut back the brush and various things along the creek which really opened it up nicely. Found a new stand of elderberry grwoing from the creek so I cleared around it to allow it more room to get as huge as it can. New phones arrived finally and one massive step up in quality from our old. #homesteading #farming #gardening #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Our couple days of hot are here before it cools off a bit for the holiday weekend. Got more mowing done as it was getting hot yesterday then spent the heat of the day inside working on the room cleaning. It's taken a hell of a effort but we now have his floor cleaned and can move on the the shelves. THEN we go to the other room and do the same thing... #homesteading #farming #hive #peakd #dailyblog

After our time at Ninja Nation on their last day open before closing for good we spent most of the day trying to clean the absolute pig sty of a room of our youngest. Thankfully I have laminate flooring everywhere in the house so it is far easier to clean than carpets. The hard part is the tediousness of all the little shit strewn about... #homesteading #ninjawarrior #hive #peakd #dailyblog

After the dawn grain run yesterday we went to Ninja Nation for another hour which had us all pretty well worn out. But then we headed up to pick thimbleberries, at least the ripe ones as the stands are within a short time of being in full ripe. They are one of the many native berries we have growing in the region and this year looks to be a bumper crop of all of them. #homesteading #nature #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Picked up the new bike first thing in the morning yesterday and as I got home the car borked again. Hoping the new radiator cap is the final fix. The clouds helped keep it cooler so weeding in the gardens wasn't horrible. It was still pretty warm though when I went kiting though I was working a bit harder then. #homesteading #paragliding #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Crazy the size of the eggs compared to the tiny little bird that pushed them out. No wonder she is always glaring at me. The Flycatchers are as their name indicates good bug eaters. It's good having them nesting here and hopefully the eggs will hatch out and grow to even more bug eaters. Be nice if they ate the mosquitoes en-mass but I guess the bats need food too. #homesteading #farming #hive #peakd #dailyblog

Quite proud of the boys for doing as well as they did on the 12 mile bike ride yesterday. I'm trying for a new bike as the 20" tires are just not able to keep up with us on the 24 and 26" tires. Sled is back in operation and seeming okay so far... fingers crossed. I need to take it for a longer test drive to see if it really is okay. The bees have a new super on and this morning will get a new batch of syrup made the npoured in when cooled later. #homesteading #cycling #farming #hive #peakd #dailyblog

I really hope the new thermostat will finally have the car running right, it's about the last thing in the system that could be bad at this point. I will know when I get it changed. The garden is giving us more with a nice pile of lettuce and a bowl of raspberries. Soon the peas and beans will be in full production. #homesteading #farming #hive #peakd #dailyblog

First bigger harvest from the garden yesterday was 9 Asian cabbage that weighed a total of 17 pounds. Rather stoked on the camera lens repair I did that saved me a bit of money and also gives me 4 extra pieces of glass in case this one breaks. Late in the day I found this gorgeous gopher snake which was about 3 feet long and very healthy looking. Quite happy it's around to eat the pests. #homesteading #snake #hive #peakd #dailyblog

The rain is rather welcome right now since it has cleaned off all the dirt and dust from the plants in the garden which helps them grow better. After watching Aaron Durogati win the X-Alps I got some tree trimming done by the creek. Still a ton to cut out but slowly I am getting it into a much better condition than it was before all over grown. #homesteading #hive #peakd #dailyblog
