So far the prognosis is not looking good. I'm down to the OHCs but now have to pull timing and heads and everything else to get down deep and see just what the fuck broke. I really don't want to have to yard the entire motor out but if it is pistons then it will have to happen. FML! I'm looking to turn the farm into a serious spud and garlic producer. 1000 garlic this year should more than quadruple for next year. The sheep and birds are extra happy with the piles of warm grain yesterday morning. Still warm after the brewing process I was able to finish coating the main garden with grain and had the extra for the animals. Once the ground has thawed enough I will till it all in and be ready to setup the irrigation and plastic cover. Hit Mistequa casino in the evening for date night and had a great meal and we walked out up a few dollars from gambling. Well, the true sign Spring is here.... MY #GARLIC HAS POPPED! As I was putting the snowblower away and pulling the tiller out I found the tips of the garlic were poking through the pine needles I used for the winter cover. The needles were still frozen beneath but I still removed most of them. The 50f+ temps during the days will have them thawed quickly. A lifelong dream came true yesterday with my oldest and best friend. For over 30 years we have wanted to climb ice and we finally made it happen. I lead my first water ice climb which is my first ice climb and possibly a first ascent of the falls. It's for sure a solid WI3 route and would be about 60 meters for what we climbed. The creek has already peaked with the prior days rains and the tunnel is running much lower. The creek is blowing and going with all the snow melt and the tunnel is a good 2ft deep. It's been worse in prior years so this is not too abnormal, it's just this year winter was condensed into 2 weeks instead of 3 months and followed directly by the spring warmup. I'm hoping the mason bee house I printed out will actiually atract some this year. The PNW is living up to its overly moist nature. The rains and temps made for some persistent fog all around the farm all day yesterday. The creek was the main producer of the mist and there were times during the day it vanished for a bit before flooding back in. GR8 is jsut 13 goals from beating Gretzky's record and likely there will never be a player that will top the new record. Incredible to get to see this a second time in my life. It was well worth the drive yesterday to explore the waterfall ice despite going solo. I had all the gear I needed EXCEPT ice screws.... Rather annoyed I didn't stop to get them on the way but at least now I know how easy it is to get to. As soon as the rains stop and Art feels better we are going back and will climb the waterfall. I plan to bring my drill and install an anchor on top since this looks to form every year. 2 hours from the farm to the trailhead and a 25 minute hike up. #iceclimbing #climbing #nature #adventure #hive #peakd #dailyblog

I had a major internal battle with myself over whether to free solo it or not... The safe side won out and I just dicked around on the bottom 10 feet. After getting the grain in town and a filling at the dentist yesterday morning I ran the snow blower around the farm for a while. The warmup has begun like I said it would and we are headed for Spring. 50F by Sunday means the farm will be a sloppy mess and I want the snow moved to get the ground exposed. 4 Nations #hockey great and the US v Canada final on Thursday should be awesome. Our local Spokane Chiefs played Kamloops and a Kamloops player took a puck to the mouth and lost most of his teeth on hte ice, the ref carried them over to the bench....
