The next frontiers for #Bitcoin communities: 1) Make Bitcoin a central part of your community. Only meet in venues that take sats, and only take sats yourself for tickets, drinks and swag. No more free stuff! Consider your community to be part of an elite beta testing unit tasked with finding bugs and issues. Report back to your favorite projects with improvements, ideas and code. 2) Turn around and work with the community around you. Be humble, listen and think about how Bitcoin can directly improve the lives of those around you. Introduce them to your community, invite them to your great experiment, give help, be supportive and again, report back to your favorite projects with improvements, ideas and code. The masses won't adopt Bitcoin before we do! Let's get Bitcoin ready for the big day!

Surreal. Tried to pay at a store, debit card declined, I offered cash, the clerk said it’s policy to let me have the drink for free as after-hours they don’t accept cash. I said something something #Bitcoin , the clerk lit up, showed me his Chivo wallet and I tipped him $5 over Lightning⚡️.

I’ll be at #Tabconf! I keep telling people it will be my last Bitcoin conference, and I’m not sure I can keep that promise, but for the coming future I’ll definitely want to prioritize events of local communities that put *using* Bitcoin into the foreground of their event.

Huge success on the first Vancouver “Secessio Plebis (Pleb Walk)” tonight. We visited six merchants in 2.5h, walked past 9 #Bitcoin ATMs and had an absolute blast. Listened to great live music (sats & sax!) and hope to be doing this regularly!

It’s disheartening to see the state of #Bitcoin commerce solutions. But not surprising at all, given how even Bitcoiners prefer to use credit card payments. No users -> no investment -> no products -> no adoption. If Bitcoin fails, it’s because of us Bitcoiners.
