Socrates’ Triple Filter Test If what you’re about to say fails all three tests (it isn’t true, isn’t good, and isn’t useful) then it’s probably better left unsaid. Before speaking, Socrates proposed filtering information through three questions: 1. #Truth β€” β€œAre you sure it’s true?” Is what you’re about to share actually accurate? Have you verified it, or are you passing along rumor or assumption? 2. #Goodness β€” β€œIs it good?” Is what you’re about to say positive or constructive? Does it reflect well on the subject, or is it harmful? 3. #Usefulness β€” β€œIs it useful?” Will this information benefit the listener in any meaningful way?

Fear (By Kahlil Gibran) #poemstr It is said that before entering the sea a river trembles with fear. She looks back at the path she has traveled, from the peaks of the mountains, the long winding road crossing forests and villages. And in front of her, she sees an ocean so vast, that to enter there seems nothing more than to disappear forever. But there is no other way. The river can not go back. Nobody can go back. To go back is impossible in existence. The river needs to take the risk of entering the ocean because only then will fear disappear, because that's where the river will know it's not about disappearing into the ocean, but of becoming the ocean.

In the midst of chaos and darkness, the sovereign individual remains calm, for its peace is built on a foundation that the world did not give and cannot take away. #quotestr image
