Stained glass restorer/creator artisan. & Hand tool woodworking. Why? Because restoring is being part of the BTC realm. Not buying sh”& that will be useless in 2 years … but like BTC will be there as an Heritage . Creating beauty through Light and Glass is being true to a code : beauty of well Made Human things. Let’s get glass crazy!

Notes (8)

New church being analyzed today. Long day. 1880-1935 stained glass. Small Anglican Church in middle of a city . Will be converted into a community/show/event center. Bravo ! Please look at the protective glazing / wire screen, and the effect on interior view of the sg. Always touched when I see dedications. Stained glass becomes powerfully “personal”. Important restorations soon. Hopefully! image image image image image image image image image

The ingenuity of great artisans / designers at the beginning of the XXth centuries . The windows were designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and Francis Millet. Saint-Gaudens was primarily a sculpteur, but also helped John La Farge paint the murals at Trinity Church in Boston. Francis Millet was a lawyer whom later followed his passion for art (he died on the Titanic disaster). These two designed all the windows in this church (St. Stephen Episcopal Church in Lynne, Massachusetts), and were fabricated at the Tiffany Studio, because they did not have a studio of their own large enough. Look carefully at each series of photos : each design has 2 panels stacked , creating the Stained glass. True chefs d’œuvres. They are being restored after being vandalized. Now: there should be a crime penalty extremely important (and work time building something valuable ) when someone is caught. (From Master Roberto, one of my mentor : he is a Master conservator / restorer / painter in my field ) image image image image image image
