Governments steadily proving they are antiquated institutions not compatible with the information age. Privacy is a fundamental human right. You can't have encryption with back doors. That completely negates to objective of encryption. Feel bad for people in the UK.

People really still don't see the need for secure communications when you can get thrown in a cell for possessing a plant in the majority of countries around the world.
GrapheneOS is not as scary or inconvenient as you might assume it is! It's basically just Android, but more secure and private... Overwhelming majority of apps function perfectly and if they don't you can use a progressive web app to access them via a web browser. The minor sacrifices in convenience are well worth the leaps and bounds gained in security and privacy. If you're interested, I would encourage you to look into it. If you like your money open source, why not your phone too? After all, it is the most personal connection you have to the internet, pay attention to what you're sending out... It's your permanent record.

Reducing the amount of arbitrary software running on your mobile device can help limit the amount of data you're giving away for free to trackers and advertisers.
If you have apps you don't use, delete them.

GM. On Android you can download all your regular apps through the Aurora store anonymously. So you can use the apps you want, without having a Google account linked to you. Google play and the Aurora store are both just the front end for the Android app database.
1. Download f-droid
2. Download Aurora store from f-droid
3. Sign in as anonymous
4. Download any Android app. Google maps, proton mail etc.
