@Deepmarks.org I love this project! A couple feature requests and questions, if you don't mind:
1. Feature: It would be great to be able to sort my bookmarks by priority. Example use case: a priority queue of videos to watch.
2. Feature: Public discussions (kind 1111) on bookmarked URLs.
3. Bug: When I bookmark a nostr note in another client, it is added to Deepmarks. However, removal does not seem to work until I clear the browser cache.
4. Question: What NIPs are you using and where can I read up on them?

Time for more weird fusion stuff! Varijashree Venugopal got famous in her teens for singing Coltrane solos (because why the fuck not?). Drawing from Carnatic music and blending it with jazz influences, she has built a style characterized by tremendous complexity and vocal virtuosity, while still being groovy as hell. Enjoy!

We finally got to giving Plebeian Market a try (after a failed attempt with Shopstr) and it worked like a charm. Put up some T-shirts based on designs by @Inanna Available only in Poland for now, but if it catches on, we'll think about international shipping.

Plebeian Market

Please ignore this. It's shopstr doing some random shit. The product can be found on Plebeian (in Poland only). View quoted note →
A niche one today. I met Ola, the singer, at a vocal workshop. At first impression I would have never expected that the quiet girl has this much in her. A blend of neofolk (including throat singing), world music, big band, soul... really cool and unique stuff. I present to you "Burza" - a song about reclaiming your voice after being silenced for far too long.

Today I'd like to introduce you to one of the most interesting Polish composers, Krzysztof Penderecki. Starting out as a REALLY avant-garde musician (e. g. "Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima"), in his later work he returned to more traditional forms, for which he was dubbed "a traitor of the avant-garde" by his contemporaries.
What I think he realized is that music is a language and if you want to be understood, you are bound to use at least some vocabulary that's legible to your audience. Pure experimentation, innovation for innovation's sake, is something completely opposite - an autistic idiolect, incomprehensible to the listener. If your intent is to communicate something to the world, no matter how weird it is, the weirdness has to be embedded into something familiar.
Late Penderecki does just that masterfully - inside a somewhat neo-romantic musical matrix, he's still able to place lots of harmonic and melodic experimentation, in a way that allows the listener to relate the new and weird back to the old and familiar.

Did you know that we have a nostr equivalent of Reddit?
Kudos to @Mr.Crown // Renarchy for building this beauty.

Psychedelics have definitely changed me for the better and completely changed the way I think about reality. However, such radical experiences are not always beneficial - for some, especially those lacking a supportive environment, the stark contrast between the "other" world and consensus reality can push them into the depths of despair. "Sanctification" by Antimatter is a song about such despair and it's not just licentia poetica - you can definitely hear the anguish that the artist has been going through and let me tell you - it's no fucking joke. Definitely recommend the whole album.
PS. Don't be afraid to click on Tidal links - they can redirect you to any streaming service you desire.

'FIPS's IPv6 compatibility path requires transport MTUs that LoRa cannot sustain' - how does it square with the fact that LoRA support is planned on the roadmap?
Holosoil is one of my latest and greatest musical discoveries. A brand new German prog rock/metal band (more Tool than Rush type of prog), playing really advanced stuff that just screams intelligence, but not in a self-indulgent fashion. You can hear that the vocalist deeply understands rhythm, so a) the vocal parts don't have to be dumbed down as is common for many prog bands b) the resulting melodies are fucking awesome. Enjoy!
BTW, a call to the #demu folk: please try to bring these guys to nostr. They sound nerdy enough to get it.

A question for people more knowledgeable on the subject: is it possible in principle to marry @FIPS and @TollGate Deployment somehow? FIPS is amazing, bit faces the same sustainability issues as any other mesh stack. I think a monetary incentive is a must-have if we want to build a resilient global network.
Wardruna is widely considered THE top band in modern neofolk, and for good reason. Apart from top-notch production, melodic taste and a great ear for timbre, you can easily hear that Einar is a drummer - the rhythms stand out compared to other bands in the genre. Here's one of my favorite songs by them. It's in 7/4, but still has a groove you can dance to. You won't even notice that it's over 10 minutes long.

I managed to host a website reachable over FIPS (reachable for those in the know)!

I was so excited about Reticulum that I even tried to convince the devs to join nostr, talk to Tollgate guys, participate in SovEng and so on. To no avail - they all seemed anti-Bitcoin and anti-capitalist in general. But now we have our own mesh stack and people seem to love it. Go @FIPS!
