Backyard Ultra. 🥴🙅🏾‍♂️ 15 loops around the block. 15 hours | 100k was not the day to reach my goal of 24 loops | 100 miles. same like 3 years ago.. same distance and same problems.. stomach issues after loop 10. the night was sooo freezing and long.. all my stuff was wet. then my knee started to hurt a bit and i was like, naah man not today.. maybe next time! @backyardultra.thelastlap thanks for this super cool event! met some cool and inspiring people and had a nice challenge. 😁✌🏽 (the backyard ultra or last one standing is a form of ultramarathon where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6.706 kilometres (4.167 mi) in less than one hour, every hour again at day and night. the race is over when only one runner remains to complete a lap. this runner is marked as the winner and only finisher, with all other runners receiving a "DNF" (Did Not Finish). each lap is a loop course on the same path. in order to remain in the competition, the runners must be in the starting box when the hourly bell sounds. there will be a warning sound 3, 2 and 1 minutes before the bell. the runners are not allowed to leave the course. personal assistance is forbidden on the course, but allowed between the laps. aids like trekking poles are forbidden. the challenge is rather a mental one: no participant knows when the race will end, and the participant's ranking does not depend on themselves, but on whether their competitors are giving up. as every runner has to start the next round at exactly the same time, a fast runner does not have an advantage over slower ones. A LOVE FOR THE LONG DAYS IN THE MOUNTAINS. 🏔 imagine you are at home, its snowing & raining outside but 200k direction south in @ticinoturismo its sunny and warm..what can you do if youre a summer kid like me? GO! i always enjoy it so much to come here for a weekend and rock the trails. this one was always in my mind when i run up monte boglia. to go further on the ridge. a very wild, rocky technical trail after monte boglia lots of scrambling parts and a 30m rope descent from a tower next to sasso grande (all T6 III) super fun day out! the endless downhill back to lugano was beeaaautiful and exhausting. this trail is part of the @scenictrail.ch a wonderful race! started at home in castagnola to monte boglia, denti della vecchia, cima di castello & sasso grande T6 (III) paretina dei chiodi, vajolett, cima di fojorina, colmo di san bernardo, monte cucco, rifugio san lucio. always with this huge view over ticino. from the rifugio it was and a endless steep rocky downhill thru cute villages back to lugano. Lake Zurich 100 Endurance Run. 🏃🏽‍♂️🏔🏞💦 105km | +3'200hm | 14h 11min a lot of good vibez and good people on the trail! thanks everyone for the talkings and thanks to all the helpers at the aid stations waiting there in this shit weather filling up my water and cheering us on! that was fantastic! thanks to the guys from @lakezuri100 for doing this! a muddy day out with a really nice weather collection. there was a epic sunrise followed by rain then it changed to hail and on the wildspitz where we freezed our ass off it was snowing and with the snow came the wind.. im not gonna lie, that wasnt easy. on halfway on the last big downhill i was on fire and everything was good.. the sun came out and i knew if i dont go to fast im not gonna struggle on the last climb like last year. on the last 10k when i was dry for the first time after 13 hours the storm hit us hard! that was rough.. i never sat down only 15min stops at the station not moving. i fueled right drank a lot, learned from the past ultras and had no problems only the normal pain on 100k haha. . #lakezurich #100k #utmb #trailrunning #ultrarunning #mountains #zürich #switzerland #runnersofinstagram
