When you're on vacation in a foreign country do you ask the merchant why he doesn't accept USD or GBP or whatever your nation's currency is? You probably don't.
So, why is it important to you that the merchant accepts Bitcoin? As long as I can pay WITH Bitcoin I don't care what the merchant receives. It's his money, not mine.
And yes, of course being able to pay IN Bitcoin would be great but reality is very different and if you live ON Bitcoin then all that matters is that you can pay WITH Bitcoin everywhere and that, has been possible for years.
Bitcoin is accepted everywhere even if the merchant doesn't know.
Today I was offered a catering job for the holidays because - allegedly - the hospitality business can not find "qualified" staff willing to work over the holidays.
I was offered €12/h. I kindly declined and left.
