One of the core principles of Fardhu Kifayah (Communal Obligation) is collective responsibility, the duty for Muslims to uphold the welfare of our ummah together.
Yet, many of us have fallen into a dangerous mindset:
βSomeone else will do it.β
This way of thinking has quietly weakened us from within. We assume our duty is fulfilled simply because we believe others are already doing it, when in truth, that very assumption is what causes the cracks in our unity.
The hikmah behind Fardhu Kifayah is not to shift responsibility, but to share it.
It calls us to lead together, to support one another in what we lack, and to build trust and accountability within the ummah.
Let us not throw in the towel and wait for help to come; let us be the help.
Let us be the ones who act, not just the ones who assume.
May Allah grant us mercy and forgiveness for our negligence, and rekindle in our hearts the spirit of true communal responsibility.
