I fucked up my calendar and missed a hearing for the first time in 13 years of practicing today. It wasn’t a big deal and not an important hearing and everything worked out. I got to apologize to the judge and informed my client who was gracious as well. But it’s hard to explain just how stressful this was. First missed hearing ever.

@ODELL @MartyBent I think you guys should revisit the New York case pertaining to grabbing“abandoned coins”. I recommend having someone on one of your shows to discuss what’s really going on there in terms of the long-term implications and what this person is probably trying to do I’m not saying I’m the guy to do that, but I believe your instinctual takes on it are a little off.

I like Jeff Walton but he laughs/chuckles too much during interviews which makes him sound defensive. It might look differently on video but in his position appearances matter (probably too much) but his “are you really asking me that”-sounding laugh is a detriment. I’m probably reading into this too much.

Part of me is now wondering whether the filing Plaintiffs were always the original owner of these coins and they are trying to wash them to legally sever any relationship the UTXOs have with illicit coins. In fact, this is my primary theory for now. This person may be trying to clean these coins by pretending he found them. I don’t know this, so dont come at me Plaintiff lawyers, it’s just a hypothesis. View quoted note →
