NOICE Visual Expression Awards submission by Alex Sheffield: "The lost art of discomfort, the true form of one’s self. These images put forth a notion that when lost and alone, colors and strangers will more often than not be kind to you when they see you taking a path less traveled, a journey less blind to traditions and expectations. The images frame themselves when your busy mind is quiet and loves being alone. I have had moments and years where I feel lost, but looking past my eyes, I sense the beating heart of humans and cities, all in a harmony of entropy and imperfect balance. This brings me endless comfort. I enjoy feeling small, like a speck of sand on a mile long beach." #noicemag #photography

NOICE Magazine is celebrating 10 years this year. Hard to believe. There's been many incredible things said about NOICE from other photographers over the years. It's great to see that there is immense amount of value that others see in it. I think that's why we're still here. Things said such as: "I think NOICE is one of the most appealing collections of photographs I have ever seen. I truly appreciate the harboring of character and limitless expo of more some of the more overlooked scenes in the everyday world. I am always fascinated at what the community members see beautiful and interesting. Thank you." - Alex Sheffield And things like... "In my opinion, Noice magazine has been always one of the best photographic magazine for what is my photographic vision. The magazine allows you to unlock your creativity, taking inspiration from the many great photographer featured in it, but also it allows you to contemplate the beauty of our everyday life" - Marco Marinucci Read more testimonials on our website: #noicemag #photography

NOICE Visual Expression Awards submission by Daniel Carolan "I am originally from Hong Kong but moved to New York City for college and stayed ever since. I have been doing street photography on my iphone for 4 years now and am constantly inspired by everything I see in the city. Every time I walk outside there is something to take a photo of." #noicemag #photography

Visual Expression Awards submission by Normal Rice. Q: What makes a good photograph A: Right now, with visual saturation at an all time high, it might be novelty. And even better if the novelty can be a gateway towards a visceral emotional or intellectual reaction from the viewer. www.normalrice.com #photography #noicemag

On the contrary, desaturating your photo can actually reveal more subtle variations in color and tone, because removing strong colors highlights the underlying differences in luminance and shading.

The art of photography isn’t really about using the camera. It’s about learning to discern and omit - and knowing how to truly see and consider what matters.

Huge congratulations to our third NOICE VEA winner, Kathrin Mundwiler! We received an incredible range of work this past quarter - it was tough to pick just one, but Kathrin’s series really exemplified the ethos of what we value here at NOICE Magazine: finding beauty in the mundane and everyday moments. This has been our focus for over 10 years now, so it’s always a joy and an honor to highlight photographers like Kathrin and work like hers. #noicemag #photography

Visual Expression Awards submission by Misha Yu "I think a good photograph captures something you find interesting. It doesn't have to be flashy or staged or require setup - it can be about finding something worth noticing in an average, mundane day. It should evoke some sort of emotion - I like photographs that make me feel nostalgic, or elicit happiness because of the beauty of the subject. Oh, and good lighting." #photography #noicemag

Visual Expression Awards submission by Euzebiusz Jakubowski: For me, a good photograph is all about the first feeling. It's that instant moment when you look at an image and you just know it speaks to you, it works. You don't have to overthink it. #noicemag #photography
