Remember when they used to put an "s" at the end in parentheses when they weren't sure if there was going to be more than one of something or not, like code(s) or ticket(s) or whatever? Not good enough for this chap! That's been bugging me since I was a kid and I fixed it on my wife's recipe page. If she chooses 1 cup, for example, it'll say 1 cup. But if she chooses 2 cups it'll say 2 cups (plural) automatically. And the same for the rest of the units of measure (teaspoon, tablespoon etc), if any of them have an amount > 1 they get pluralized. Also spent some time today adding the rest of the new recipe details to the show page, laying things out so it looks nice and finishing up the styling. And that is the show page 99% done and 2 more things checked off the To-do list 🤘🏻 The only thing left on the show page is to finish fixing the Like button, which is functional but just kind of jammed in there at the moment. #WebDev #WebDevelopment

Once I finish the page for my wife's recipes I'm going right into my next project which I already have well on its way. Most of the styling and layout is done, it looks nice but it's not incredibly complicated. It's also already responsive, the database is saving what I want it to save and I have authentication and authorization already working. What's left to do is the core functionality of it and I'd like to make it my first #OpenSource project, but I've never ran one of those before and I could use some advice. And I don't want to host it on GitHub because Microsoft, is there a good alternative that still uses #git? Also don't want to use VS Code anymore for the same reason. Hey while we're at it, I almost forgot I also found out recently that if you put the windows up and down incessantly like a 3 year-old would do, it eventually locks out the window controls for about a minute 😁 Someone at Honda accounted for this, in 2012 Honda Civics, anyway 😂

Okay, there's adding steps of Instructions buttoned up, and with that the form for adding recipes is complete! That feels like a pretty significant milestone, the hard work is done, the recipe model is complete and adding recipes has a pretty good flow. Now I just have to make everything look pretty on the Show and Edit pages and my first actual web page will be almost done 🤘🏻 #WebDev #WebDevelopment

My wife and I were pulling into the Walmart parking lot recently, there was an ambulance there with its lights going and the EMT's were moving someone from their car to the ambulance on a stretcher as we pulled up. Found out later that a woman shot herself in the hip (in the ass, really) on accident that day. Her gun went off as she was getting out of her car that also had her 3 kids and her husband in it because she put a bullet in the chamber and had left the safety off. And that's how they normally walk around with them, ready to fire at a moments notice (or go off on accident). Life in America, I guess

Okay I'm up too early again and playing more #Stalker2 is the clear solution. And I'm gonna gush for a second and point out that the audio is so amazing!! There are audio cues to a lot of things in The Zone if you just stop and listen. An adorable little enemy called the Burer, for example, hums. And it can be a pretty tough fight, it can pull your weapon right out of your hands and toss it fuck knows where, throw your grenades back at you and toss random objects like filing cabinets at you, all with its mind. It's normally chaotic at best, but if you catch your breath for a minute and listen for the humming, you'd figure out that's when his shield is active and you can't actually hurt him.
